Eminem is a horrible rapper right now and repetetive agreed

but your "pros" on Nas are bullshit

Who's better? Overall Eminem, who's better right now? it's more like who's less bad

So what do you mean my pros on Nas are bullshit, fucktard?

pros and cons? I can't even dumb it down enough smh

"fucktard"

interesting I know with that kind of clever wit i'm going to lose this one sided, child like, argument

Man, you don't make sense. I asked why you said that the reasons why Nas is better is bullshit? Do you have a reponse to that or are you just fucking around? Seriously.

And stop telling people that they don't know enough or that they need to listen to the album again, im thinking you should shut the fuck up and listen to Em's TES and SSLP again, goto a hip hop forum and ask them if any of Em's albums are classics and i assure you they will mention either one of the 2 or both and some might even mention MMLP

Theirs a difference between YOUR top 5 and an overall top 5, one is opinion and one is truth. I have listened to enough Nas to know he is an amazing rapper, i just dont prefer his rapping because it gets boring quickly.. Its just a personal thing i guess but whatever..

I'm afraid if you google best rap albums and go to their lists, MMLP will RARELY be in their top 10. Maybe once or twice. MMLP does not even deserve to be in top 50, if you really listened to hip hop. Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul is better than MMLP in general. SSLP is around MMLP's level, basically, but it's even included in top lists LESS. The Eminem Show is not in top 200 rap albums, no matter how much you like it. It's a fact. And if you listened to Nas enough to know he is an amazing rapper, you would NOT say his rapping gets boring easily. Seriously.

Come doubt me.

Never gave Paid in Full or Follow the Leader a good listen, man ftw are you on,I`m 100% sure that I listen to RAKIM more then you do,so don`t tell me I never gave a good listen to those songs, after all Rakim is my top 3 fav rapper, right after Pac and Em.I never said that Nas is bad its just that Pac and RAKIM are better then him,Pac maybe ain`t if you`r lookin overall skill, but he sure did more impact on this rap music then Nas(dont get me wrong Nas did amazing impact wit Illmatic, that album influenced many rappers),and Rakim is much better then Nas in every way,hes the one that made Rap the way it is,and Rakim after 20 years in rap game,he still has it(just listen to Holy Are You,its better then Nas`s late stuff, you cant tell me that Untitled was good)
holla

I'm just wondering how you said Rakim and 2Pac SHITS on Nas. No hating your opinions or anything, just wondering. I love Rakim too; he's a rhyming pioneer and his flow is like crazy in the title track "Paid in Full." But if you're going to say Nas can't compare to Rakim, that's just not right. Rakim admitted in an interview that Nas IS on the best rappers EVER. And I can't possibly agree with you saying "Rakim is much better than Nas in every way." Nas has a much better career and I prefer his flow to Rakim's in general. But I agree Rakim made the East Coast Renaissance what it is a.k.a. Illmatic. Holy Are You is a great track. But it's not on the level of Lyrics of Fury. That's just PURE lyricism. Untitled was not BAD. It was decent. Good, at most.

Heffernan wrote:i doubt anyone will read this...lol all well

eminem for many reasons...

well start with...

eminem always has better beats
eminems flow is near perfect on every song...nas has the worst flow in rap IMO
eminem can rap about anything..nas is limited....
eminem is much more creative
nas tries to hard to seperate him self from mainstreem
nas is pretty boaring...he can have a very good 20 track greatest hits.....

but for the most part his cds boar me

im done

Eminem does not ALWAYS have better beats. In general, Nas has better beats. DJ Premier + Pete Rock + L.E.S. + Large Professor VS. Dr. Dre + Eminem + Bass Brothers? I'm afraid Nas got the better beats. Just listen to "Nas is Like" for one of the best beats in hip hop history. Legendary beat.

Nas does NOT have the worst flow in rap. That's fucking messed up. That is saying his flow is worse than people like Soulja Boy who ain't even got a flow? What the fuck. Eminem's flow is great I must admit though. His ability to change his flows anytime any-track is very skillful.

Nas raps about more topics, actually. Eminem sticks to his family and critics and serial killing and his position in the rap game, basically. And dissing female celebrities. Sigh... just read my previous post about Rewind and I Gave You Power. Nas is more imaginative. No argument there.

That means Nas is more creative. Bring the hate, Stans.

Nas does not try to seperate from mainstream music. He just likes that underground feeling. He's from a different neighborhood than Eminem. Eminem IS mainstream. But the better side of it.

Nah, Nas isn't boring. You just got to listen to more of him. Not just Illmatic, although that is brilliant by itself and in a category of albums by itself...

Termin8er wrote:Ha! U guys serious? Eminem, no question about that.

You're basically saying Eminem blows Nas out of the water. You listen to hip hop or Eminem?

yoshi wrote:Seems like I missed alot here..

First of all - hands down for da.relapse.lp :b:

Anyways, I'd say Nas. I started my 'adventure' with hip hop from Eminem and he'll be always in my top.. let's say top 5, but so will be Nas, and he'll probably get the top spot. Why?

Nas is.. a real artist for me. He's way more sophisticated than Eminem, like da.relapse said - he can rap about anything. Religion, politics, ghetto life, music, love, storytelling.. Anything. And he's fresh, even though on 'Untitled' the moaning about Afro-Americans might get a little bit tiring after a while. Still, I think his albums are way more mature than Eminem's, especially when we consider what SSLP and let's say.. Stillmatic were about.

I'm not denying that Eminem is a great artist, but for many people Nas is the God's Son. He's one of them, he knows the street life, he created sort of a 'divine' aura around himself which, for most of hip hop fans, makes him way more credible than Eminem, who - yes, I will say it - still enjoys burping, farting and shoving gerbils up your ass on his albums. Call me a person without sense of humor, I don't care, but seriously - for me, Eminem lost alot of.. credibility? and respect by releasing shit like that.

I don't remember seeing SSLP or MMLP on any of the higher places on the top lists, while almost every Esco's album can be called a classic, 'Illmatic', 'Stillmatic', 'Street's Disciple', even 'Hip Hop Is Dead' and includes legendary tracks like 'NY State of Mind', 'Rewind', 'One Mic', 'Get Urself A Gun', 'Street Dreams', 'I Gave You Power'..

I think what defines Nas is his class, his sophistication but also a cockiness at the same time, a bit of this murky vibe and a great dose of respect for the past, while Eminem, although also on a very high level, lacks exactly almost all of the above.

Word. Nas just has such an IMPRESSIVE discography with so many great albums and some classics. Same with Jay-Z, speaking of impressive discographies. Eminem got one classic (not a AWESOME classic but a good classic) and one great album and two good albums and on bad album. You probably can guess which albums I'm referring to. Yeah... I agree with Eminem losing credibility with tracks like "We Made You" and "My Name Is." (< the stupidest song he has, IMO) I'm not saying the tracks are UNLISTENABLE, but they're entertaining the first two times or so, but then they have NO replay value. The only reason I would listen to We Made You is for the beat and flow. Lyrics have no point at all. Nas is much more mature and deserves more credit than he has towards the more general audience. Eminem gets too much credit. Hate me. I mean, I like Eminem (or I wouldn't be here), but I must admit that Nas is a much better well-rounded rapper.

Termin8er wrote:Youre right (most of the time). But thats what Eminem is. Its either you like him or you dont. Thats what makes him so special. I like Nas, and i think hes a great rapper. I have no idea what the FBI examining Eminem has anything to do with being a good rapper. I, personally, would NOT want a rapper to do that to me. Just listen to some political Immortal Technique and tell me that he's not as venomous as some of Eminem's stuff, although Eminem is the MOST straight-foward in his attacks on the United States of America.

First of all, Renegade is Jay-Z's song. Second, Eminem's verses of Renegade is NOT better than Nas's verse on "It Ain't Hard to Tell." Don't fucking make broad, vague claims like that, dude.

And please get off Eminem's dick and look for some real old school hip hop. Broaden your tastes.

you are totally right yoshi, having different subject matter (nas) is a lot better than changing up your flow and the tone of your voice every once in a while

I love nas, but jesus, i can put a song thru one earphone and put another thru another earphone and he'll probably sound the same.. nas doesn't even have rhyme schemes, he just randomly rhymes, sometiems it sounds good, other times i'm left wondering when the next rhyme will kick in...if you dont understand what i'm saying, listen to The Flyest by nas, and you'll get it.

when it comes to greats it is impossible to decide..most of those who sayin nas is better talk about Eminem like he's not hip hop at all..like "do you listen hip hop or eminem"..that's funny gtfo..eminem fans are sayin how much eminem achived in his carrier..that is tricky too, cuz eminem is known worldwide and considered as pop icon too so his steps are watched more then some other rappers..ice cube said "I'm only rapper wanna fist fight to president"(if I got it right) and I don't recall anything happened(correct me if I'm wrong)..eminems color has big effect in his popularity too but as rakim said "black or white em is still nasty"..

my point is they are both great and it's hard to compare them, not just cuz they got different styles, also cuz they are to good and there is very small difference in quality of their music..nas is lyrical as fuck but em is creative too..listen to Emulate

Nas can change his flow, he proved it in 'One Mic'. That track itself is one of the most eargasmic tracks I've ever heard. And in fact, I think that having a wide range of topics you can rap about is a lot better than being able to change your flow. And I don't really think he always sounds the same, he changes it a little. He's just more about the content of the track, not the 'form'.

Don't get me wrong, Eminem has the sickest flow out there, I think I've made myself clear many times before when talking about his flow. I was just trying to make a point - when I hear the name "Nas", I think about a great artist, about classic albums, ghetto life and God's son.

When I hear Eminem - I think about 'My Name Is' or the puking sound on 'Puke' ('Puke' being one of my favourite Eminem songs btw.) - and that's what most of the people connect Eminem with. Nas has just way more credibility and class than Eminem and you can't argue with that.
I know Eminem can make songs that give me chills, that he can make me cry and dry my eyes with the same line :p He's proved it many, many times.

just cause you remember eminem as the white boy with bleach hair, doesn't mean shit... i'm sorry but class doesn't mean shit, when it comes down to vs.. i'm looking at who's music I enjoy better, and if you say Nas, then you have to be frontin, cause half his songs are about the ghetto, and i am sure you haven't lived in the ghetto.

and remember yoshi, i'm the one who agreed with you about Stillmatic being better than Illmatic, so you do know I listen to Nas and love him as an artist.
