Purely for rhythmic purposes it seems. Guess he just thought it sounded cool.
This must be what that reviewer meant saying that it started out sounding almost chopped and screwed.

Yeah had to quote myself, just cause i appreciate the way we can all count on Em to sound so different than we expect.
I know its only 9 seconds, but his voice reminded me of like a modern Encore and it made me laugh. Still very excited.
