Well, Eminem was on magazine covers, Relapse was the most anticipated album of 2009 in magazines such as XXL and Vibe. It then fulfilled this prophecy by being the biggest selling.

He did a selected worldwide outing, including the UK. All the songs released were top 40 hits, "We Made You" getting in the top 10 and "Beautiful" getting to #17. The album got a mixed critical reaction but only in the sense critics were split. Not to say most critics thought it was half-okay. In the sense that half thought it was trash and half thought it was genius.

This is less relevant however because nearly every critic who low-rated it had a problem with the visual violence of the album, seemed to ignore the skill and musical aspects and rated it very harshly because it was Eminem. And when I saw BP3 being given 5 stars, it just made me laugh. Relapse had many top reviews from credible sources such as AllMusic, Rolling Stone and others though.

He was also in every imaginable headline of 09 whenever he did a fart or cough. He's also had hip-hop buzzing all of 2009 not just from the album and for its sequel but for manic freestyles and the slaying of rappers on "Forever" and Wayne's "Drop the World".

And as for many people not liking it here on TRShady... So what. As far as I can tell, most people here, despite being Em fans, seem to think it's cool not to like Eminem and do as much as they can to discredit his talent at every turn lmao. So I'd expect it.

I can also find you 10 forums where it's the complete opposite. That doesn't prove anything.

His rhyming is out of this world, his passion is reignited, his ambition is fresh and clear-minded, he's determined to make songs you can play 100 times, is pushing himself to the limits and is putting his all into everything. So no, he hasn't fell-off. Not even close.

He's done the opposite. He's full-circled and he's hungry and when Relapse 2 drops you'll take back every word uttered. I just can't wait for the bomb to drop and when it drops boi it's a problem. Can't wait to see all the detractors eat their words.

The main thing thats changed about eminem is that hes not the supersttar as he was hes now just the rapstar if u know what i mean, he used to touch people that werent interested in rap with his tracks this album lacked soul and passion but yet had great lyrics and flow.
So its all about what you prefer i prefer some good old passion songs like stan/ and obviously i want him to have awesome lyrics and a decent flow but id like him to have a balance with those two, like Relapse had over the top lyrics and Flow but passion wasnt near to good so if he just added more passion and held back a bit less on the lyrics then id find the album awesome, obviously he could just have these great lyrics and add passion in it that would work aswell for me atleast.

And trust me mate i want R2 to be as good as u do, and i dont think bashing on eminem is "cool" i do know what you mean tho, i hate those people aswell we'll just have to wait and see ;)

Well yeah but that's a conscious change. That's not him falling off.

He purposely went back to underground style of rap, hence "Underground" - Of just saying fucked up things for the sake of it and focusing only on rhyming. That's not him falling off, that's him taking a conscious change in direction, back to what he used to do.

So of course if he's doing that you're not gonna get zeitgeist songs like "Sing for the Moment" that speak for a generation because he purposely is avoiding that style. It's not that he's lost it. So it's a different thing from falling off, he's just changed. On purpose.

And yeah he's not that type of superstar now because he's only just come back. Most people outside of rap forgot about him. You have to see it from the general person's perspective. Eminem fans have been anxiously waiting a return, to them, it's a surprise. So he ain't gonna come back and be Elvis again but that's not the intention either. He said he doesn't wanna be that big again.

But he's still very much that superstar in some sense. And the reason why is because there's a mysteek about him. To most people, he's an enigma. And that's because he doesn't do 1,000 interviews, appear in every magazine in print and do realty TV shows. He hand-picks things. And that's him and Paul. The way they've always done it, it's conscious. That's why 11 years later, people are still foaming at the mouth for new material and 6 years into 50, they're sick of him.

It's because he doesn't jump on every mixtape and make you see him 24/7. So when he does make an appearance or drop a verse, it's a much bigger event. It's the right way and a very clever way or keeping the spark there. It makes people want more of you, because you don't give them enough. Ever. He does things for the legacy, not for the paycheck. Like when he went on Jonathan Ross (UK)... That's his first UK TV interview... Ever.

Which is pretty odd considering how huge he was and the fact he was the voice of a generation. But again, that only makes it more the special when he does finally give a UK interview then. More people will intrigued.

But he said recently he's now trying to make songs you can play 100, 1,000 times so you're likely to get the songs you crave again anyway. But I'm definitely glad I got a whole album of psycho-shit. He already did plenty of emotional and personal rap so It's always there. It was a relief and a very fun album.

When I'm debating with you, I don't even read your last line. I read the first one and realize immediately I'm dealing with an intellectually challenged spastic of a human.
