To be really honest with you, i think many fans started to listen to him because he was the first white rapper, and seeing as how parents have still got racial profiling stuck in their head they dont do shit to stop them from listning to em.

a number of things introduced me to rap....some obvious some not so.firstly it was 50 cent's get rich....before this i was netural and would liek wutever i liked u know.Then from get rich i found ice cube and got deep into old skool....then i expanding my views of rap and started playing artists liek limp bizkit and linkin park....i think its healthy and gives you a great view of rap and a overall rather then JUST EMINEM.

What u talkin' bout dats just 1 black guy, don't mean that eminem would have a deep voice if he were black and what does skin color have anything to do with the way you would rap as eminem proved the way you rap depends on where your from not what race you are, eminem's sounds more like another member of d12 as oppose to Vanilla ice or Bubba Sparx or any other white rapper.
