Annoying when critics and people say' relapse a 2009 disappointment ' or what ever.The album had good sales and a mixed reaction overall with people more and more starting to like it for what it is.Em says it meh and trash and people just copy him,Absurd.

It is his lowest selling album though, so to HIS standards it was a dissapointment. (Sales wise)

it doesn't have any memorable hit, in other words, it just came & went, people were calling Em's over until Forever came along and people became interested in him again (by "people" I mean the general public, not TRshady members). By this time last year Relapse was already out of BB 100 for a while & right now Recovery is still top 20. And you got NA & LTWYL both multi-platinum singles & top 10 youtube videos while We Made You hasn't even reached platinum.

Well I don't think his goal for Relapse was to impress the general public, he was doing what he wanted, but I get what you're saying kiddo

I'm pretty sure him & the label thought he could just come back & relapse would take him straight back to the crown based on the fact that he was so huge before, that's why they even planned a part 2 for Relapse later the year (which was scrapped as we know), that's why We Made You was the lead single, because he thought people would just eat WMY up like his previous goofy singles. And it was labeled as his epic "comeback" album, he was doing WAYY more promotions for Relapse than for Recovery (he went & performed at every freaking award last year)

Well Relapse wasn't a flop sale wise taken into account off how the album selled in 09 etc.Recovery was a flop then cause it sold less than a million ?.No cause in 2010 it was good sales likewise relapse in 09. So what if relapse didn't reach out commercially as his other albums and didn't have massive hits. it all depends on how GOOD the album is and what critics thought off it which was very mixed. Just cause it wasn't reaching out to everyone and 12 year old little girls does not make a album a disappointment or a flop.

^ well seeing that every other albums of his reached out to everyone except Relapse, it's not false to call Relapse a disappointment, and singles success are counted to the album's legacy too, like I said Relapse in general just failed to connect to general public.
