When I heard Rihannas hook on LTWYL I though damn Em is good. He's doing a song with Rihanna!
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Hahahahahaha, that's how alot of my friends "got into" him xD

I remember a while back, when I was hanging out with some friends. Then some girls randomly started talking about how only black people could make good music, and that Em sucked. And ofcourse I had to make my voice heard, so we started discussing it like hell. But yeah, they still meant that Em sucked. Then a few months later, Recovery is out, and they're all like: "Damn, I just heard his song with Rihanna, it's awesome, you were right, Eminem is amazing!" :facepalm

I first heard Mockingbird and started to love it. I'm pretty sure Encore was the first album I listened to and I loved it at the time. Not so much now haha....

Why would you love an album then, but not now? How has the music changed for you?

Well, Encore isn't a shitty album. For Eminem standars, it is. But if any other rapper released an album with songs like Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers, Spend Some Time, Yellow Brick Road, Never Enough, etc. I would fucking love it. I guess if that was the first album you heard by Eminem (without knowing eminem), you'd think it was an awesome album. But when you look into his others, it's just not as good anymore.

I hope you don't say that 'cause you're "not supposed" to like/love Encore. I love Encore.

I hate when people jump on the Encore-hate bandwagon :facepalm

Encore isn't that bad to me, it's still his worst major album, though. I like a couple songs from Encore, I won't go out of my way to say I hate it because I don't. It's good as a rap album, but as an Em album it's his only sub-par album, to me at least

I remember being at my friends house a few years ago and he put on White America and told me to listen to it and I was like woah :o So i borrowed the cd from him and became addicted so i went off and bought the MMLP and Curtain Call and I remember the first time I listened to MMLP through, I was still young, like 11, and I had NO IDEA what was happening in the Ken Keniff skit.   And after all that now im a huge Stan :flutter:

I was always quick to skip that so my parents wouldn't hear it.

11 years old, heard Eminem on a Tupac remix. I liked how he had constructed his lyrics to the point that it even sounded good on a remix. Then I proceeded to look up his work, a friend of mine --who was a huge D12 fan-- gave me a couple of his CDs, including the The Way I Am single. I fell in love with that song that day.

My neighbor always played "Sing For The Moment" outside while playing basketball and I loved it, but I didn't know who Eminem was (I was 11). I somehow found out who it was, so I went and listened to all his stuff.

I remember first listening to him, my friend showed me his copy of MMLP and played it for me. I was young, so I had to like, secretly listen to him from my parents. Things have changed, huh? Now we're all stans!
