Not the image that sells right now though. Lloyd Banks has a decent image, and B.o.B had great image. Yet Asher Roth sold more than both of them.

True but I still think record sales are unpredictable. Tech N9ne an independant artist sold 30k which is just 50k behind B.o.B's debut album.

That for the most part is obvious as Em, Dre & Jay will sell no matter what they do. But for someone to cross over into the mainstream properly (150k+) they need to atleast have a presence in the mainstream. There are artists that are like "Oh yeah, he's the guy who made that song" (Flo Rida, Asher Roth, Travie McCoy), and then there are artists that are consistent in skills so they have alright sales and good albums, but not popular enough to do huge numbers (Nas, Mos Def).

Then, there are the artists that are renown universally by mainstream listeners, and therefore have enough influence to have decent first week sales such as Drake, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, etc. Your record sales are essentially your fans, and almost all of Royce's hype right now is on the internet. I don't even have to explain why that's a bad thing when you're about to drop an album lmfao.

All signs point to him working more on the label, I cant see Shady Dropping a Slaughterhouse album, D12 album and a Ca$his album all in one year, not to mention helping his boss promote "Detox", I guess I could be wrong but I wouldnt hold my breath waiting for an Em album this year
