I dunno why he can't do that anymore.

In my opinion he can do it but he doesn't want. He always tried to be different year after year and for now the only way he knows to be new is to rap faster then before. J

Good point. Songs like kill you, sing for the moment seem to have some sort of 'epic-ness' attached to them which only time can provide.

Over time the Recovery era, may become just as memorable as the MMLP era or TES era. maybe.

I agree :y:
I was listening to Relapse a week or so ago and it sounds so much better than I remember it, mainly because it's so much different from the stuff he'd doing now. The accents are like a breath of fresh honestly, just because all the collabs lately, or most of them, have had the shouty punchline delivery. Once he moves onto another project, going back to Recovery will probably make me appreciate it much more because of how different it is also. Not to say I don't love it already, I do, but the recent collabs have tainted my view of it a little because of the shouting all the time in them.

Not saying it will but I agree it could. IMO in 2 years Recovery will be considered a classic. IDK if it'll be up there with MMLP or TES but IMO it will certainly become regarded as a classic and my loved around here than Relapse. And IMO it will be considered either his 3rd or possibly 4th best album behind SSLP

I'm just listening to Till i collapse, damn that was perfect! For some reason he feels the need to shout a lot on some of the last tracks we've had.I'm not really bothered by it but i wouldn't mind if he would slow down his tone a bit either,be more chilled.I've always been proud that Em is one of the few artists that sound the same either live or on CD.He performed Renegade soo great.Damn i hope we get a DVD from these concerts :flutter:

Well first off, he yells his ass off on that track (especially the 2nd verse).

But I think now it's like, he's really pumped. And that's something admire, because after all these years, you can tell that he still loves his craft. I can't get into artists who sound the same on every track, just mellow and bland, no matter how skilled they are (Tupac is a great example). I love Em's fire, that yelling you're hearing is almost always just from a sense of adrenaline.

Amadeo wrote:The people who defend the shouting/yelling by saying he's always done that shit ('Till I Collapse/The Way I Am) are clueless.

His screaming actually sounds great on 'Till I Collapse/The Way I Am. It sounds crap now because his vocal chords can't produce the same power anymore. It just sounds shot now.

This and I find shouting to be a aggressive turn on then annoying. :)
IMO anyway...
