Now all he's gotta do is...

- No more of the so called YELLIN'
- No more punchlines
- Don't rap about himself anymore
- Don't rap about love or hoes
- Don't look so old
- Don't wear fancy clothes
- Don't rap with popular artists
- Don't dance when you're on stage

i feel they would of been overused if he used them prominently again on recovery but i think they fit relapse well. I'd like to think most of us can agree dissing relapse multiple times on recovery was a stupid move it only cemented haters opinions and alienated neutrals from bothering to give it a chance. I gotta admit the first time i heard we made you i thought what the fuck is that voice! i think that was possibly his biggest mistake the first big single from relapse had the most annoying accent on it, not really what fans wanted in a comeback song, im cool with it now but it threw me off a little at first.

whether the accents were overused or not is subject to ones opinion i dont agree with em on this one. And relapse was far far superior than "ehhh"

Its all in good measure. When you look at all the songs separately they are all nice to listen to but when you make an album of it its fucking annoying.

Relapse is weird like that. I never listen to the album front to back but I like almost all the songs because I only want to listen to so many accent songs in a row.

Stay Wide Awake, Same Song & Dance, 3 A.M., Bagpipes From Baghdad and Must Be The Ganja are all perfect with the accents.

My Mom, Medicine Ball, Deja Vu, Underground, Beautiful, My Darling, CWYWF, Crack A Bottle and Insane don't have accents.

I don't get the hate either but oh well...

the accents arent bad, cause most songs he used them for did fit for it, but he overused them, even he saw that. i wouldnt mind maybe 2-3 songs with a relapse like accent on each album, but relapse had too many. normal voice>accent

I always thought they were original, entertaining, and a brilliant way of syncing his voice to melodies.

Surprisingly no "ohh this thread again :coffee: "
the accents were just a reason to hate Eminem in 09. Just like his alternative image in 99, homophobic rumors in 00, being a "criminal" in 01 with the court cases, going soft in 02, wanna be G unit thug in 03, falling off hard in 04-06, doing a song with Akon in 07 and now the yelling/corny punchlines in '10
Wonder what people will bitch about this year?

I think it's all to do with timing. When the 'accents' were the latest songs he was putting out, everyone was worried that this was Em from now on - he would stick with the accents. Then when he changed it around you can go back and look at the accents and appreciate them for what they were, which was a period of experimentation.

Now, with the shouting (which i don't understand btw, he has always shouted as far as I can remember), i guess its the same thing. When he releases one song in a soft voice everyone will begin reminiscing about the 'passion and fire he showed' back then.

I have seen a lot more praise for Relapse since Recovery came out - maybe it's fashionable.
