It was weird. I was....I was so fucking excited. Just going around telling people "EMINEM IS FUCKING BACK!"....I can't explain how it feels to listen to an Eminem album the first time, which I don't need to, because all of you know...but, it was amazing. The first time you hear each track, it doesn't really sound like a song...what I mean is, you aren't really familiar with it...the format/when the chorus comes in/etc...then as days go by, it feels like a solid song and you develop a feel for the song's format.

So, at first, I loved it. Fucking LOVED it....then I started hating on it. Now, I love it, again. I have been through a "love and hate" relationship with every single song except "Talkin' 2 Myself," which I never liked....never.
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

Yes, I was. I still think that Despicable is the best album on the track. ( for the suckers: i know it is not included on the album )

Now I kinda wish he'd calm his voice down a little more like The Warning, but it's not that big of a deal.

Album was great.

He did on a few songs like going through changes, ridaz, on fire and Wtp.

When it first came out????, Hell Yeah I was disappointed!!!!

I listened to it for two weeks (if that) then threw it in the back of my closet.

two weeks after that; one day when I was driving around with one of my friends, she came and picked me up and 'Love The Way You Lie' was playing and I figured it was on the radio, then she started skipping through songs and threw on 'Cinderella Man'
I guess I gave her a funny look cause she looked at me she said
"Yeah, I bought the new Eminem CD, so what!?"
to which I replied "I have it too"

after that, I dug it back up outta my closet and gave it another chance.
and I gotta say, itwas 2 dope. :worship:
though I still wasn't feeling most songs..
the CD itself was back in my top ten (for the months of July and August, at least.)

like anything though, I had to take a break from it.
I still come back to it, and bump it every now and again.

At first, yes, but the album grew on me and I started liking it more and more, and I ended up thinking it was a damn good album. Obviously not a perfect album and not as good as his prime stuff but a solid album to his legacy.

I expected way more deep/personal songs like Going Through Changes so maybe that's why I was a little disappointed.

This, and what satire said, the more i listened the more i fell in love with the album.

Long Story Short,it has its flaws but its a quite solid piece of work.

...this isn't about whether it's a good album I said it was. It's if you were disappointed, read the OP...

Very much. I was happy with Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, Going Through Changes, No Love, 25 To Life, and You're Never Over. Talkin' 2 Myself is alright, too.

Otherwise, I was disappointed with the content and direction he chose to go in.

Listened to "Not afraid", liked it really, got me hyped.
But the beat was an alert bout the weak production that would be a mark of the album generally.

At first, I coulnd't even listen to the album completely at once... sounded boring and goin' nowhere.

Then time passed, I started to like "Space Bound" (It's corny, so what? So is Hailie's song. Both good songs), my first favorite, and proof for me that Em still got it, somehow. Saw a translation of "25 to life" and "talkin to myself", then I liked em both. "So bad" was my last favorite, showed me after all, talent is talent, he still can make good songs...

Then the other tracks:

No love... was cool... but fuck lil' wayne and that beat!
Glad you got murdered, sucker! Understand that Em only makes song with you because he wants attention for himself and wanted promotion for the album. You ain't got shit on him!

Almost famous... ok song...

Cinderella man... well, I can't even imagine how I feel about this song... different...

Cold wind blows.. one of my favorites, real kick ass beat and Em did it well. Surprised it was a Just Blaze beat, sounded perfectly Dre-ish.

Goin thru changes... never really catched me, until now.

Love the way you lie... I like it, surprised by Rihanna's good chorus. Well, unexpected feature is always better than expected one, even if the unexpected turns to be bad, which it wasn't.

On fire... never really catched me until now.

Ridaz... sounds like a throwaway Relapse track...

Seduction.. please Em, stop doin these kind of songs... you sound really uncomfortable. Plus the beat is.... meh

Talkin 2 myself.. it's one of the best tracks... a picture of new Em is now for me. Good but not amazing anymore.

Untitled aka Here we go.. forgettable.. I dont remember how it is actually. Only good tracks enter in my memory, or the ones I play a lot...

W.T.P... a cool attempt of a club song. Most of the times Em does it, it's nothin' special. But I feel Em on the chorus.

Won't back down.. this is good!!

You're never over.. really good.. needed a better beat.

Session one... Really good. But without chorus, somethin' is missing. Only a little handful of songs is good enough without a chorus.

Not disappointed with Recovery. I thought that it could be, at the best, a worst version of Relapse...

But it was better. Better production would probably turn it to amazing for me. Consideratin all this years, it's incredible for me to listen to a song like "So bad".

I was so exaited so hyped up. I littery expected something on TES or MMLP level!!! It's far away from these two albums but i'm still not disappointed!! Well i was disappointed with a lot of things in the album but not with the whole album as a concept. For example i was disappointed with the production - he include so many producers i was expecting something illmatic but the production sucks!! Yeah Just Blaze was good, Jim Jonson too, but the others - mehh. I was disappointed with Pink's feature, i was expecting something really big, disappointed from including Rihanna in the album, a lil disappointed with the Proof's tribute (but from the beat, the concept was great), from the non-contraversity in the album etc. But at all i wasn't disappointed!!! It's a great album!!!
