having good multies whiles being able to tell a grasping and vivid story is crucial to this aspect. sure, raw emotion is up there to but I know what I'd rather pick. luckily for me eminem does both of them most of the time. or at least in the 1999 - 2003 era.

underground was paying tribute to the old slimshady character by adding random things to the mix

25 To Life is without a doubt better than Underground, it's actually ABOUT something, whereas Underground...isn't, and the random as fuck lyrics don't help its case. All it has going for it is a good beat, hook, and delivery, lyrics suck cock. Amadeo be smoking crack, tbh, even if he doesn't like the song it's definitely FAR from the worst since his comeback. I would say the opposite and be as bold as to say it's one of the BEST since his comeback. I love the song, it's my favorite from Recovery.

And let's not let the "married to the game" cliche affect our views on the song (everyone ALWAYS brings this up in their arguments)...the rhyming was great IMO, I enjoy the beat (god-for-fucking-bid), the hook is one of the best on Recovery IMO, and I relate to nearly almost every word. Not every song has to have excellent rhyming to be a good song...it depends on how you connect with the song and how you feel when listening to it. THIS is why I think opinions can't be 100% wrong (there can be bad opinions, of course) because you may feel something when listening to Eminem or any other artist that someone else doesn't. And as for me, I connect greatly to the song. Obviously I'm not saying that I was ever married to the game, because yes that's what the song is about, but the words I still relate to, I don't give a fuck...THAT'S what's important in music, and people like to take it for granted all the time by saying "stfu your opinion is wrong." YOU shut the fuck up motherfucker (not directed toward anyone in particular), let people like and listen to whatever the fuck they want without being fucking criticized for it.

I compare it to criminal (obviously). criminal didn't have any story as well. just random shit about gays, killing dre with an AK and steeling money from a bank whiles killing a girl. and yet still, the song is found to be ten times better then 25 to life by most opinions on here. and in my opinion, eminem did a fantastic job on underground by recreating the essence of criminal.

and the beat is just crazy. nothing, and I mean NOTHING on recovery gave me that awesome eminem feeling that underground and stay wide awake gave me.

Really, even just a year ago when I used to read old comments on other forums whilst searching Google, old fans said they didn't think The Eminem Show 'felt like Eminem' and that he was 'going pop/mainstream' (lolz). A year ago people reacted to Relapse like "Wtf, what is he doing with that voice? This isn't Eminem".

If he makes as big as a jump as he's been doing from MMLP onward (bar Encore), no new Eminem album will "feel like Eminem".

Well, to be honest, I've felt this way some times too. There are a few songs he's done that actually feels like an Eminem song, like Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, W.T.P. (it does sound like an Em track despite what people may feel about it...)So Bad, Almost Famous, and I think 25 To Life felt like an Em track. But, I've noticed that sometimes it just doesn't feel too Eminem...Fast Lane is a small portion of the old Slim (the Nicki Minaj line is classic Em, and I'm not saying it was a good line because I know some people don't like it), and I hope Bad Meets Evil shows him bringing the real anger back to his music.

And Satire, thank you for saying that. I know of a lot of people who said "this isn't Eminem" when they listened to Relapse. And Recovery comes out, which should be the Em everyone wanted, but now they say Relapse was Eminem and Recovery isn't? Fucking bullshit, I just really think people don't know what they want, I think if he went back to his old style people would complain about him not progressing...
