Never Not Buying an Album again

I know I usually just post silly pictures and shit, but please take a moment to read the following:

I didn't buy Refill or Recovery, and after listening to Take From Me I feel like a fucking dick, I mean put yourself in their shoes. Imagine staying up late at night, putting months and months of work into something, and waking up one day and seeing it free to download for everybody online. And Eminem PERSONALLY does his absolute best to keep shit from leaking, and he just can't keep it from happening to every last bit of material he makes.

Especially if you're like Eminem and can't have a regular life. You can't leave your fucking house and just go to the local store. Your only way to talk to people is through your work, and to have 100% of it stolen?

It's not about the money for him, it's about feeling support from us fans.

You all sit here and bitch about his accents, his yelling, every little petty thing you can find wrong with him.

I'm for sure buying this, it's better than I expected. I like it better than Recovery and Relapse combined, at the moment, at least.

Excuse me if im wrong (Ive listened once but mainly going by whats written here) but how can he bitch about people not buying and supporting his music when he himself confessed to putting out 2 albums worth of poor music. Just seems a silly move to then play the victim card.

Also (And this is in general terms of ALL artists) They say how they are happy because they are "doing something they love" "working a dream job". But then complain about downloading and start saying how much "time and effort" it takes to make a album like its a fucking chore. It is so 2 faced when artists do this.

FYI I always buy albums ive liked after downloading. Make a good album you get my money. THATS how it should be. Im not paying for something that could be a heap of shit.

This isn't new for him to say though - I can remember seeing an interview with him when Napster was just getting started, from right about the time MMLP came out, and he had the same attitude about downloading then. Not that I think it matters at all that he has said that he doesn't think his last two albums were good - a lot of people disagree - people still deserve to get paid for their work.

I listened to the song a couple of times, and honestly I think it is about more than just leaks. I think it could just as easily be directed around at his management/record company who promote him so relentlessly. I'm stuck on that line about people who don't appreciate flows - I don't think that is just directed at fans who complain about songs.

First off, no. Listening to an artists music is NOT supporting their work in any way. Positive feedback, yeah thats great. Going to concerts- even better but just sitting, vibing and the bitching about the flaws on all the fucking hip-hop blogs and sites (Hiphopdx, SoHH, tr fucking shady) and all that shit AINT supporting an artist at all. Plus, to be fair, Eminem is an old-school guy and thats what he knows. In his own words "Hey, people might listen to it free on the internet or whatever but if they like it.... they'll buy it"

That said, yeah, just might buy myself one. On his next album Right now i need another pair of kicks and tired of wearing the same old torn Jordan's to school everyday. Old School Eminem would understand.

I agree, I don't think Difficult should have been leaked. That was such a personal track.

I think the song was just talking about the principle of stealing music. He's saying how he puts everything into his music to please his fans just to see it being stolen. Yes, Eminem will sell regardless of leaks, but I doubt he even cares about the sales. You could tell with Recovery he really tried to correct the faults he made with Relapse. Getting rid of the accent and a change of subject matter for example. I think we need to remember something he says in the song, too. Music is really all he has. He holds it very dear to him. For it to be stolen, I mean you can understand why it would piss him off.

I'm sure he's also referencing tracks he didn't want to put out. For example, GOAT. He would never put out GOAT. That was him during a heavy drug phase and obviously not thinking clearly. Those sort of tracks can harm an artists reputation. Even though it done very little to how people perceive him, it was a cocky track where he was very bitter. You wouldn't want that out.

But equally, I agree with something you said. He has millions of people waiting to hear every single track he puts out. That's something which very few artists have, but I'm sure he's grateful for that.
