^ Yeah I do bang on about it but the reason I keep banging on about it is because people keep thinking and responding as if I'm talking about its PLACE there, and its content.

My point has absolutely nothing to do with what he's rapping about in the song or its place on the album. It just sounds objectively ridiculous to my ears with the other tracks.

And, given that you get that with "Lighters" as almost everybody seems to, I'm shocked nobody seems to feel that way with "Beautiful" bar one person I speak to on MSN who's a member here.

06ish Em style + rockish beat, sung chorus (one track) mixed with tricky, rhyme obsessed, quickish flows and bouncy, weird, spacey rap beats... doesn't sound odd to you? fair enough. It's odd to me that it doesn't sound odd / out of place to anybody else but, so be it.

EmBase is right, it souds out of place. But i don´t care, it works for me, makes the album more diverse. But this was clearly made to be a hit, comercial wise.

Take From Me does seem kind of like the Deja Vu of the EP, in this case though. You have two introspective songs, one of them sounds like it belongs, one doesn't (I do agree with EmBase, but I still think Beautiful fits on the album as far as the concept goes, and Lighters in no way fits, and that's what I care about in this case).

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

I can agree that Lighters is 100% out of place on this EP, but I accept that it needed a song like this to make releasing a Bad Meets Evil EP possible.

Expect something similiar with the 3rd D12 album (if it ever happens)

Them guys been out the spotlight since D12 World so it's kinda inevitable

some of this verse sounded like his freestyles around 1999:

EminemBase wrote:...I think is generally an improvement on his recent, sometimes patchy lyricism?

In terms of the rhyming and structure, it seems somewhat smoother like the multies are sort of falling into place more like they used to, more conversational and free-flowing.

I like the verse too, especially the 'devil in my noodle' line. That's vintage phrasing.

You do realize it was the FIRST track made on the EP right? So, technically, while it was one of the more recent tracks we heard you are implying his newer lyrics have decreased in the "free-flowing natural feel."

That is objectively. Personally, i hate the track with a passion. Lighters is a good track and because people listen to music on shuffle, mp3 and when it comes out and only (random guess) 2% of the forum listened to the EP on release in order- i feel its outdated logic to hate a track because of that.

^ How do you know it's the first track recorded? I think they said it's Living Proof..

I'd like to know what is the last one though. I'm thinking of Lighters.

Complex cover story/ New York Interview and some other random piece from the wave of "info" they are giving to anyone with a mic. :coffee:

The recording process was Royce got the Beat and sample and laid his verse. Eminem was asked to go on it and he killed his verse. Royce got competitive and they spazz out towards the end. They have fun and it shows its early non direction music (crush pills is said TWICE in one song). After that they kick back and forth some tracks until they got some 6/7 tracks they sitting on and decided to put out an EP. From there, they added some "balance" through Take From Me, Lighters and Loud Noises.

I was completely indifferent to this song when it came out.

Now? This song is fucking awesome. I really like how both EM and Royce gradually become better, until the great final verses. The lines are fucking funny, the delivery is classic, the hook is genius, and the beat accentuates the ironic tone of the song.

You angel hair pasta, flow dreaded like some fucking tangled hair, rasta

So good.
