I think there's probably truth and bullshit from Em, and Debbie.

As, not all of Em's claims make sense either. Firstly, Em's uncle Todd backs up Debbie's claims that she was over-protective and if anybody would even look sideways at Em she would verbally abuse them.

And that part, I believe. As she reminds me of my mother quite a bit. My mother isn't abusive or a drug addict but she's an anxious, hypochondriac and she's also incredibly over-protective. She always thinks she's ill and she worries about everything. And she's thin and just, the way she thinks and speaks is exactly like Debbie, she's that kind of woman.

So, I just believe and can tell from the way Debbie speaks that she's an over-protective, anxious mother. I absolutely believe her on that.

Secondly, if you look at some of the pictures or video clips... the pictures of Em are always tidy aka him in a smart little shirt and a professional photo shoot with his mother. Now, I grew up poor, not as poor as he's claiming he did but if he was that poor, where and why the fuck did he have professional photos taken of his childhood lmao?

As I certainly didn't have that. And if you look at the videos, he's always happy with his mother, and goofing around, and always seems like he loves his mother in these videos.

And Debbie said before that Em told her it was all a joke for the music and he'd stop soon, which you may think is far-fetched, but just look at "Evil Deeds" - "I never had any of this shit planned mom please believe!" - what the fuck is that lyric about then? as seems to be to be an apology to his mother and confession for exaggerating or exploiting the ideas he talks about. Also "never got the chance to say I'm sorry, now look at all the pain I caused"...

Oh and if you look at "My Mom" for example. Now, on that song, when Em was interviewed about Relapse on Shade 45 - he said that he just HEARD that was true from some people who knew his mother. So it was a rumour that he didn't even know was true and yet writes the song like it's a definitive fact and part of his life lmao. And I know the song is jokey and an indulgent comic-book-esque kind of story track, but he still writes about it like it's absolutely true. So I mean, how many other claims does he really know are true, or can you truly believe. If he's willing to commit so something that solidly, over a rumour.

I do think he was relatively poor but why would Debbie say she was college educated and always had jobs, which can easily be checked out if she's lying. She came out with the names of those degrees pretty quickly and she sounds like she's telling the truth to me.

Well I didn't say everything he said is a lie. But I do think he stretches and exaggerates a lot and that his childhood wasn't as half as abusive or corrupt as he makes out.

I think he'll pretty much sacrifice anything for his art and once his regular rhymes didn't work and he created Slim Shady, I think making his past as dark as possible and all that just naturally tied together. And I think it was probably far more normal than people think.

She sued him for defamation. And I don't know what happened with that case but legal cases can be very tricky and it could of just been thrown out for lack of evidence either way or, who knows. And he could of just won based on free-speech like with the D'Angeo Baily thing.

Plus, if there was no validity in it, why was she awarded anything. I think it was an out-of-court settlement anyway.

I think they both lie and exaggerate. I think Em exaggerates how bad it was and Debbie exaggerates how good of a mother she was. I think the truth is probably somewhere in -between, but what's with the "Evil Deeds" lyrics...

There are social services reports that Debbie suffered from Munchhausen By Proxy Syndrom, and that she would hurt her kids to get attention, add up all the 'I hope you were dead and not Ronnie', being in a coma for days, changing schools every couple of months etc... The worst things Em claims happened to him arent made up.

I think when a relationship breaks down both individuals exaggerate and twist the truth to fit their own 'view' of events.

I don't think you can doubt that Em did hate his mother and their relationship was gone and as a result he said a lot of the things he did.

People will say anything in spite, it's not that he's lying - he's just human. You take little things and expand them and twist them so that you may even believe them yourself.

The facts are this though, Em seems to be a loyal person - if his mother had supported him and been there for him through thick and thin, he would have respected her for it and they wouldn't be where they are now.

Em is surely not callous enough to invent this whole back story, with his mother, to exploit with his raps.
