DreamWorks Decides Against Eminem movie Southpaw

Pretty stupid to drop it.

Given the writer, director, the storyline, the fact EMINEM is in it and how huge he is in general but particularly right now again... and the success of 8 Mile,why drop it. Em or his team never confirmed this movie anyway and whilst it seems unlikely all those names involved wouldn't deny it if untrue, I never fully believed it was even gonna happen.

Would a sequel to 8 mile be such a bad idea? I know a lot of people say that it would a corny move or a desperate attempt to keep his superstar icon status. However, after the huge success of Recovery that just wouldn't be the case anymore.

Yet, If it was handled with care & was supported by fantastic writers (the wire) with a decent director. Why not? Jimmy's story could go in many different directions, which would obviously involve a timeskip.
