EmBase, it's called consonance and this wouldn't be the best example of it on Recovery.

Okay. And I didn't say it was. As I wrote in the thread, hearing him say this line just reminded me of it and that was the basis and explanation for the thread.

I didn't say it was the best example. One of the best would be on "On Fire".

Exactly, and you already wrote a post (or essay) on that part of "On Fire". I just find it weird you'd choose to write about the style again but use a worse example this time around.

1. I don't remember writing about that. Not saying I didn't, just that I don't remember it. I don't keep track of everything I ever say on a forum. So repetition may often occur, as it does with many. Sometimes I'm aware of it like my constant bitching about "Beautiful" on Relapse etc. but I don't remember writing about this before.

2. Because of that, there's nothing weird to be found in me spontaneously creating this thread as hearing that line made me think about it, and urge a discussion on it. It would only be somewhat weird, or your point valid if I knew full well about my 'essay' on the "On Fire" part and yet decided to write this anyway...

Clearly, from what I say in this thread, it's obvious from the get-go I feel as if this is my first time writing about it. As I'm speculating and commenting on it as if it's a new discovery. Which it isn't, I've noticed this long before but, I thought it was new for me, as a thread.

Soulja Boy rhymes words (barely), he's a rapper (debatable). See the difference here? Eminem pays a lot of attention to detail in his writing.

Ummmm, I was saying Eminem does more than say just a bunch of words with 's' in them. He has 3 multi-syllable rhymes in ONE BAR. That's fucking incredible, I'm not comparing the genius that is Eminem to fucking Soulja Boi and I didn't mean it to come across as me disrespecting Eminem. If anything I was saying he deserves more recognition that what was given to hin in the OP and following posts.

He's been doing a horrible job of this lately in every way.

His vocal delivery is extremely harsh. The production on half the songs don't even sound mixed properly.

I was listening to relapse today in the gym. It's the only time I wear headphones/ear buds or anything like that.

When I do I'm always amazed at the "pleasurable" aspect of Eminem when he's on point. I thought, maybe it's dre's production that gives it that crisp, smooth feel. But Eminem produced the show, so that theory doesn't work.

That's the problem with everything post relapse for me. Even lines I think are clever are tainted by the fact it sounds like shit.

I grow to appreciate Relapse more and more. And no, that will never happen with Recovery.

Because, it isn't pleasurable outside of 25 to life and almost famous.

Ah right, I thought you meant "he's just rhyming, he is a rapper after all" lol, just a misunderstanding.

Also, Em having 3 multi-syllable rhymes in one bar isn't too impressive. It really depends on what the multi is. In this case, he's only rhyming two syllables. Not taking anything away from that though, the creativity of the rhyming is pretty good, especially how he keeps the "s" sound. If you look at Hello's first verse however, he rhymes 12 syllable consecutively for 1 and a half bars. That's fantastic rhyming.
