I disagree. TES > MMLP >>> Recovery.
But The Eminem Show and The Marshall Mathers LP are both fantastic albums, so that isn't to say Recovery is bad.

it might seem odd, but Recovery just doesnt feel like an Aftermath album to me, Relapse did, i think the production in recovery isnt as polished as his other albums, it sounds rougher, might just b a mixing thing, I listened to relapse today after not hearin it in a while and said "wow, this shit SOUNDS hot!". he didnt play wit different flows either, sounded the same on every track, didnt really show any love to his lable mates either, first em album to not feature any shady artists. lack of skits made it lose some of that cinematic feel his other albums had. its a good album but if u listen to this and the eminem show rite after, u can see a world of difference. my personal score was a 7/10

SSLP: 8.5/10
MMLP: 10/10
TES: 10/10
Enc: 6/10
RLPS: 8/10
RCVRY: 7/10

Agree with those numbers 99%.

I appreciate Recovery for what it is but I'm just not a huge fan of a lot of it's qualities

Here's how I rate his albums:

SSLP: 4.5/5
MMLP: 5/5
TES: 5/5 (My favorite of his albums)
Encore: 2/5
Relapse: 4/5
Recovery: 4/5

I actually love Recovery. Things that most people on here have a problem with, I actually love. For example, the beats and the delivery. I'm actually very satisfied with both. Now, I do think he should switch up his delivery more often in albums to prevent it from getting tiresome/old, but for the most part, I'm satisfied.

I think it has some great stand-out tracks like Space Bound, Cinderella Man (I actually play this song the least out of all the other tracks on here, but I admit it displays great lyricism), On Fire, You're Never Over, Cold Wind Blows, and Almost Famous.

One thing that I love about Recovery (and Relapse, too) is that it shows he's evolving as an artist. Now, let me elaborate on that. On most of his albums, he is very self-obsessed. It's always about his problems. On a lot of tracks on both Relapse and Recovery, he's doing more story-telling. For example, tracks like Love the Way You Lie and Space Bound. He doesn't, at any point during those two songs, mention anything about his personal life. Now, yes, it could be based on his personal life, but he doesn't make direct references to it. Also, on 25 to Life, he also attempted at making a concept song by having a relationship between him and some girl symbolize his relationship with Hip-Hop. I've always thought that he should try to make more concept songs, so I was very pleased to see that he did on Recovery.

I like Recovery. Not his best, but a good album. The only thing that I don`t rally like are the beats. Em should stick to his and Dre`s production.

Boring ! and fully pop that's just a BS statement ,just because it had pop features in it that does not make it poppy ,i mean an album that has very less singing as compared a certain kanye album cannot be poppy ,i admit the beats could have been more creative and sharp but IMO it's still good and i enjoy it equally as i enjoy any other Eminem album .

I actually like Recovery, but it's far from my favorite Eminem album. I agree with what has been said, about it not having an 'Eminem feel' to it, and that I missed. When I listened to it for the first time I was dissapointed as fuck, but it grew on me as time passed. I don't like the singing, I don't like the features. I remember how sad I was when I found out Pink and Rihanna were going to be on the album, I was like :confusion:. I had the feeling he did what the label wanted way too much. But overall it's not a bad album, imo it gets way too much hate. Especially on the internet, saying it's poppy (it maybe is but people exagerate), saying Em's a sellout, people acting like Eminem suddenly is the worst rapper ever. It seems like they forgot what brilliant music this man has given us. And they probably didn't listen to any tracks other than the singles, and they certainly didn't take the time to take a look at lyrics so whatever...

This :y:

I recognize that I would prefer Skylar grey in the hook of LTWYL over Rihanna, but let's be honest Rihanna helped a lot in the record sales.

Anyway I love the full album, and I like LTWYL even with Rihanna in it.

But I think is really the only pop feature in the record. I don't consider Pink pop...
And in Going through changes he has Ozzy in the hook, who is not pop at all.

And I like the beats.

Well i guess why they put ri on the hook was that she was herself a victim of domestic violence and not to sell the said record .

Yes ,but it's obvious that she helped a lot in the record sales. Even Eminem himself thanked her in the grammys.

I feel Recovery was good in its own way as well as any other Eminem album... When i was younger and Immature SSLP and MMLP both came out to relate to me, I didn't change much in between those CDs lol. As i got more mature the TES came out. Encore came out right after a break up for me so a few songs there could relate to my situation. Then a while later when Relapse dropped i had a nasty drinking problem and was partying and doing a lot of drugs so I related well there. I met a bitch that fucked me over and then Recovery came out so it worked out pretty well in the healing process there ha along with some alcohol. So every Em album has came right around perfect timing for me and there's always something i can relate to on every CD. I have a little girl due any day now so i wonder what the next album is going to entail. :o
