Underground fans?

Life has given him so much material over the past year and a half, I don't see how he won't spin it into a TES-esque album. I'll call it right now and say his next will be absolutely phenomenal without having to reach to say so.

He could have any beat he wants in the world. Yet he continues to pick shitty beats like Roman's Revenge or extremely boring/generic/poppy/girl beats like Lighters. He could have boom-bap production from Apathy. He could have eccentric beats from Celph Titled, funky soul beats from Kanye, Old-School from Premo, sick hardcore from an unknown dude or G-Funk beats from Dre. Think of all the songs we're missing out on because he decides to cater to the 13 year old girls who like him. He could have any singer for a hook or even write his own again yet he makes song with Bruno Mars and who knows maybe Justin Bieber next. He's almost 40 and time is slipping away for him as a rapper. He should focus on making actually good songs instead of focusing on sales and staying relevant. Here's a thought: Stay relevant to the people who matter in terms of judging rap. Those people are us: the underground fans, the fans who know more than three rappers and the fans who don't drake is "dizope, dood". And fuck product placement in a video, that's inexcusable. Old Em would make fun of that type of shit and now he turned into the joke. Don't get me wrong he can still make good songs when he wants to (Welcome 2 Hell, Fast Lane, Going Through Changes, Underground, Deja Vu), but this shit pisses me off.

he co-produced it so basically he did almost nothing for it.

I agree with every word you just said. I can give him a pass with the songs like "Not Afraid and "LTWYL"(even though I consider them corny) because it was one of the rare times in his career that he catered to people just because he wanted mainstream appeal again. I'm fine with that because it gave him back the level of relevency that he hadn't had for a while. Yeah he did when Relapse came out but that died down somewhat.
I really hope that rumor about Xtina having him on her next album turns out to be false. I actually like some of her songs but at the same time I DO NOT want a rapper like Em to record with her because the more he collaborates with artists like "Bruno Mars"...the harder it becomes to defend him. He is getting closer and closer to crossing the line and turning into Snoop.
Hailie needs to seriously knock some sense into him. He is starting to piss me off right now. I have never seen a music artist so gifted and talented make so MANY bad decisions in their music career. Marshall we already know whether or not you live to see tomorrow you will be the first rapper to sell 100 million worldwide.
YEAH worrying about relevency in the mainstream must have been heavy on your mind when recording Recovery.....but now that you have it again.....Just focus on making ART....but at the same time without losing your lyrical ability. Do songs with Nas, Redman, Mos Def, Xzibit, and Busta(to redeem the very bad "Ill Hurt You").....give Lil Wayne a restraining order and tell Curtis to get his own reality show and keep himself busy. That way they can leave you alone and not ruin your songs.
We don't need to hear anymore about the "harsh realities" he writes about and the "agressive content" he gives you, that the "general public" doesn't appreciate him for. Can't he be your best friend without having him on records?
Stop working with producers like Boi1da(sounds like he couldn't think of anything else and copied and pasted his aol messenger screen name) that give you cheap sounding beats. Isn't he Drake's main producer? That alone should tell you enough Em.
Make more songs like "Stimulate " "Public Enemy #1". "Almost Famous". and leave behind "Not Afraid". If Rihanna is at her own concert and wants you to come and perform LTWYL just keep making excuses and pretending that your busy.
Don't do a song with anyone from Young Money again....Unless one of them learns to stop it with the corny one liners and actually works on being an emcee....Which will probably NEVER happen.
The next time you do an interview, try to pick people that actually are good interviews and don't ask the same typical questions about "drugs" "how did you feel when Proof died Em?"(well mr interviewer I felt great!!!)
Toure from Fuse Channel s actually a good interviewer. Look at some of his interviews with musicians on youtube when you get the chance. He may ask 1 or 2 of the expected questions but he doesn't overdo it like other people. Be interviewed by people like him so fans can learn more than the usual things that are said.
Work with the Bass Brothers again. Begin Finally working with DJ Premiere to produce work for you(are you one of the only legendary rappers not to work with him?).
Be better at promoting artists on your own label. Didn't Royce's album just come out and barely anyone noticed?
Marshall DO ALL OF THIS NOW And in the FUTURE and stop making stupid decisions.

Sorry but some of these complaints are stupid it's liek you're complaining for the sake of complaining I think it's time for you to move on.

Yes I'm complaining for the sake of complaining.......
Damn....
Do people think before they talk. Can someone actually give me their input to whether they agree with my post or not....without telling me to "move on".
What do you want me to move on from exactly? Its a discussion thread. If your gonna act like Mr "Don't Play with scissors" then get the hell out thread. Didn't Cosh start this thread to hear viewpoints from people. I'm sick and tired of people on various forums(whether it is music, film, sports) coming in to add nothing to the discussion except for the person to "move on" and not criticize a person.
By the way genius I loved Recovery so don't assume I'm a person who hates Em's last couple of albums...because I don't.
