role model
I'm only entertaining you
My goal is to stimulate, making you high
And take you and I
To a place you can't see
But I believe you can fly
I don't mean nobody harm, I'm just partying
I'm not your dad, not your mom, not your guardian
Just a man who's on the mic
So let me entertain you...

Hmm, 2 tracks from his 2 best albums...

I'd have to go with Role-Model...Some of the lyrics on there were just crazy...

..."I'm not a player, I'm a ill rhyme sayer that'll spray an aerosol can up at the o-zone layer" and "will somebody please explain to my brain that I've just severed a main vein with a chainsaw and I'm pain" and shit like that...

Role Model.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

When I answer these questions I generally form my opinion by determining which song I couldn't not listen to again. I went to vote and I literally couldn't decide - I like them both too much and for different reasons. Both are awesome songs, I won't choose.

Really? It's a great song, but what elevates it over the likes of Brian Damage, Kim, B&C 97, Criminal, Rock Bottom, SFTM, Lose Yourself, etc..?

Ok, first of all I want to make it clear that I'm not saying it's his best song, just my favorite. Second, I find it his most Hip-Hop song so to say and I love the beat, especially that bubbling sound. The verses are a perfect combination of humor and rhyming, and have a great balance of seriousness and goofiness. I love the paradoxical lines such as "a premature birth that was 4 minutes late", and those strings of rhyming ala "Will someone explain to my brain that I just severed a main vein with a chainsaw and I'm in pain?". Not that he hasn't done that in other songs, but the choice of words here is the best to me. The delivery is amazing as well, it shows another great balance of anger and rawness (i.e. he yells but he's not annoying). And lastly, it's not an overexposed song which is kind of a plus for me. Not many people have it as their favorite Em song (actually it's probably my favorite song overall), and I like that.

Yeah, the bubbling sound is great. Especially after the intro "I'm gonna attempt to drown myself.."
