I know that Lindsay Lohan is a big Eminem fan. She tweeted several times about Relapse or some other album of his and how much she loved it or something. I don't quite remember, but I do know she said good things about his album.

It was Recovery. I don't have a source but I remember the tweet.

Em humiliated him visually pretty bad and MJ has kids who probably saw it and that's bad for any parent to see. The same thing happened with Mariah and when she made "Obsessed", Em's integrity was on the line right in front of his kids and look how he responded.

MJ was at least respectful and he was absolutely right to said, "You don't have to do that". If you think about it, Em didn't need to. All his previous single were either tongue-in-cheek jabs or witty, and usually a result of provocation with direct relations to himself: Christina, Britney, Moby etc.

If you see the video interview, you could tell the interviewer was just trying to get the worst out of MJ, trying to get him to say something rude about Em. It's a shame, MJ was a great artist and would've been dope if the two did something at the Grammy's like Em and Elton.

Not exactly a reaction since it probably wasnt meant to provoke Em, but MJ did buy the rights to the MMLP and TES in 2007; He always did say he was a fan :D

Wasn't the album, but the music:
Pop superstar Michael Jackson now owns the rights to portions of Eminem’s catalog as a result of his Sony/ATV Music Publishing company’s recent purchase of Famous Music LLC from Viacom. Through the deal, Jackson now controls the publishing rights to songs such as “Without Me” and “The Real Slim Shady” according to Reuters. Viacom announced the deal, which is estimated to be worth some $370 million, on Wednesday (May 30). Jackson and Sony/ATV now also own the rights to scores of hit songs from a number of artists including Shakira, and movie soundtracks such as The Godfather and Mission: Impossible. In 2004, Em famously enraged the pop legend when he parodied him in the video for his single “Just Lose It.”

I must be doing something right? this sentence implies that Em diss people who are doing something right musically or whatever, and Britney and N Sync weren't, so he can shut the fuck up. BTW, the word faggot is not a diss towards homosexuals here, Elton John is a G.O.A.T

props for Chris Kirkpatrick saying Em is Real

o and I agree about Em going too far with MJ, I wish Just Lose it never happened (inb4IwishEncoreneverhappened)

I also agree, I sort of wish Just Lose It did not happen primarily because of the MJ bashing. He went after him for no reason and beat on him while he was down like the rest of America did. This is not some Ja Rule either, MJ was a veteran and is respected my many in the industry he also had such a sincere heart. For Eminem to just beat on him and make fun of him in a video that MJ's children could see was really low and just demonstrates how low of a self-esteem Eminem had at that time. The best comparison to this situation that people already brought up would be the Obsessed video. Mariah Carey went at him in a video his children would see and look how he reacted.

I always found the teen pop star bashing as slightly odd all together though. I know he has said time and time again he was just doing it to set himself a part from the pop scene but at the same time I begin to question it. I understand going after NSYNC and making fun of them for making sissy music or what not but why go after Britney and Christina. They are teenage girls of course they are going to make music about love and relationships. Well I guess the Christina bashing was self explanatory given their history but Britney has not said or done anything to him and he still says stuff about her time to time. I guess it all boils down to the fact that MJ and Britney are both prominent pop figures in music and are also easy access to bashing so I guess given their reputation with the media they were both bound to get some from him :p

^ I think the reason he rapped about Britney so much was because he fancied her tbh. Plus, it wasn't just Eminem, at that point in time pretty much everybody on the planet was constantly talking about her.

I did like Just Lose It when it first came out, but I don't really anymore.

I remember an interview of Christina after the The Real Slim Shady came out, where she was interviewed at like a press conference or something, and she was asked about Eminem's diss toward her, and she went on for about 30 seconds saying stuff like "I don't know why he dissed me, I don't know what I did to upset him". Does anybody know the interview I'm thinking of?

There was also this award show where Britney and Christina were presenting some of it, and Britney mentioned Eminem's name and Christina did this sarcastic rolleyes thing. It was quite funny lol.

This is kind of off-topic a bit, but Pitbull had a line in Give Me Everything that goes "I have it locked up, like Lindsay Lohan", and she sued him for it. It kind of reminded me of The Real Slim Shady situation, because I remember people at the time saying Christina should sue Em.

I assume so, but 10 years later and he still mentions her.., she is an easy target and the epitome of "America's comeback kid" so I guess it is what it is and she will continue to be the talk around town.

I know what video you were talking about. It was at the 2000 VMAS where Britney and Christina went on stage together and then Whitney Houston came out. Eminem went on stage and said something about how he was relieved Britney and Christina did not hand him the award
