People, including me, have more of an issue with corny fast-food references rather than Eminem name-dropping food in general.

^ I know Hit Me With Your Best Shot should not count, but still a huge chunk of his verse was off-track flow-wise and those lines are sub-par at most.

I personally don't mind the references on the Hello Good Morning Remix and to an extent the ones on Throw It Up (but I find Eminem's verse and the direction Em took as unimpressive though), but they're heavily hated on by SL. The "Happy Meal" line on Roman's Revenge was nothing special either.

The above, along with Eminem's metaphors and punchlines about "shit"/"turd" and the many mediocre post-Relapse punchlines actually accentuate the overall problems with Eminem's music of late with the haters. If Em could just stop using excessive punchlines and stay away from incorporating "shit" and "food" uncornily, even if his raps were average, he wouldn't get half the hate he gets now.

I try not to mind these flaws, because, to me, Eminem is still the most entertaining rapper in the game. I just hope "Richard" isn't going to be a train wreck.

good wordplay? ummm sorry I can't type an example from the top of my head but: I HAVE HEARD BETTER/ MORE INTELLIGENT WORDPLAYS FROM HIM!

And the LOVE/EVOL thing doesn't even work in writing only in pronuncing it right....

Since English is not my native language Eminem has actually taught me a thing or two about American "culture". A year ago I didn't know what a Seven Eleven or however it's spelled was. I didn't even know of the existence of WIC until he said it and I googled it. And I bet there were more things I heard first in an Eminem song when I was a teenager in 03.

I said HE feels it's good wordplay as well as other fans. Personally I don't find it too impressive but I still like the line.

No matter what there will always be complaining and it is like this for every other long lasting fanbase. Face it Eminem has reached a level of success and artistry that someone can never even fathom he hit his peak and now that he isn't at that level people are just finding everything to nit pick. It is the nostalgia instilled in all of us. Whether we like it or not he has grown and despite all of the obstacles he has had to pass he still delivers. The reason why we all get so bent over and disappointed is because we expect him to be exactly like he was. It has been over 10 years we need accept him for him and when the complainers do we will be able to fully enjoy his new music. Not saying everyone is like this but there are a few.
