Exzibit wrote:hell no .. "any other artist" ? this is the reason i never really posted here, this is delusional

take nas: basically entire illmatic (yes every song) is considered classic by most hip hop fans
then you got i gave you power .. the message.. ether.. one mic .. hate me now.. undying love.. hip hop is dead.. amazing concepts like "i gave you power" or "rewind" that are better than ANY concept eminem ever came up with.. yes that includes "stan" .. even his recent verse on triple beam dreams is better than anything eminem came up with in years

2pacs best songs are up there with eminems too .. "me and my girlfriend" = good concept so dont even start with the he doesnt have concept songs argument.. hail mary, up there with any eminem song.. california love, better RADIO single than any eminem song (aside from without me maybe)

jay-z is up there but thats debatable ..

notorious big even though i dont like him has a better ratio of released albums and classic songs as eminem

do you even listen to anything else besides eminem? yea those songs are decent to what you call "classic" but theres lots of artist who can touch them.. and how the hell is going through changes a classic? i couldnt listen to that more than once, and thats not even a personal opinion.. most people call recovery garbage.. how is it a classic when it isnt even released as a single? ask 100 random people if they heard going through changes by eminem, chances are not too many did.. and if they did most wouldnt dream of considering that a classic

dont get me started on "any artist" of any genre.. michael jackson .. r.kelly ..

im not even into rock but i know damn well to metal fans metallica got hella classic songs..

"any other artist" haha

Lose Yourself is the most known rap song in the world.

Therefore, Eminem > Nas > Jay > Pac.

Thank you for you attention. Tupac is garbage, Nas can barely flow and Jay? Let's not talk about him. The guy bites Dmx's style.

^ I was just fucking around, yet you contradicted yourself in that post.

You're clearly implying Mc Hammer isn't a good artist even though you can't touch this was his most popular single. Now just after that, you're saying "Tupac isn't garbage cuz he's the 2nd best selling artist ever"

Let me explain you some things really fast.

First, Eminem is a better rapper than Tupac. His prime delivery was better, and you could feel the emotions in his voice and know how he really felt while recording it.
Tupac has a great delivery too but nowhere near Eminem's.

Then, Em is a better writer, have a better imagery and better rhymes, and a better sense of humor. Tupac was rhyming end of words while having a story while Eminem had better storytelling tracks that were like 100 times more complex than pac's.

Tupac was famous because he came around with his gangsta stories and his ghetto-relating tracks, and that's mainly why he was famous at the time. If Tupac came out right now, he'd just be another rapper trying to make it. Then again, he inspired a lot of rappers so I'm not saying he's wack or something.

"being raped by his dad" that's exactly what I was saying. Insane is gross, funny, yet it has a better writing than most of Pac's track.

Biggie was a better rapper than Tupac though.

Plus, Lose Yourself > Any Pac track, writing wise, delivery wise, beat wise, story telling wise. EVERYTHING, NIGGAAa

EDIT : Also, saying that Rihanna made LTWYL is the dumbest thing ever. It's clearly Eminem who got all those likes and shit, everytime a girl posts the video on facebook, she quotes Eminem's lyrics not Rihanna.

I don't know in which world you live, but it's definitely Eminem who made that track what it is now. A lot of people even say Rihanna is annoying on the hook.

^ You don't have to identify to every rap track you hear man. That's a funny story telling track, it's just a song that you listen and you're like "Wow, that guy is fucked up.. Wait did he say that? Haha."

Well, Justin Bieber has tons of fans too man. That doesn't mean he's good, of course he's doing something right but hell.

I love Dmx's delivery and Pac's too, but if there's ONE artist that shows emotions in his delivery, well that's Eminem. Not being a stan.. Well, yeah. But listen to Say Goodbye Hollywood, listen to Lose Yourself, and his motivating tracks like Till I Collapse, Soldier.. That's some hard ass delivery man.

Eminem just yells about his mom being a bitch ? = saying Tupac just raps about his ghettos stories.

Eminem gave them hope too lol.. He's from Detroit, 8 mile. His childhood wasn't easy, and in fact it was probably much harder than you think.

He got beaten up by black people who couldn't accept he's white and rapping. Death Row wanted to kill him for that, later. So for him to make it as a rapper, it was twice harder than for ANY artist out there. Tupac, or Nas, or who you want.

Don't neglect Eminem as one of the best to ever do it.

I don't know, but One Mic is probably one of the best hip hop song ever.

EDIT: ^ Lool. Eminem came with 1 or 2 singles, with more than 200 000 000 youtube views on each, a best selling album and the respect that goes with it.
Where I live, most of the people couldn't even tell me 5 Jay songs or 5 Nas songs man. his impact worldwide is way bigger than any rapper out there.

The girls you know are weird then, because those girls who heard LTWYL, they don't go to Rihanna's concert but Eminem's. In fact.. I just have a proof.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbq58m4TJro

that shows it all.

We can't agree with everything but you're really dismissing prime Em as one of the best rapper ever. And I was talking about PRIME em in my first post.

About your last sentence:

Eminem was really poor too.
Eminem got beaten up lots of time, he didn't get shot though.
Eminem was a white man in a black environment, so he was victim of racism too.

These are facts bro..

People on this board don't understand what a "classic" song is. A classic song will live through generations, not years. I can't see "White America" being bumped in people's cars in 2061. I can't see people still discussing "Cleanin' Out My Closet", or talking about how insane "Deja Vu" is in the future either.

People still admire 2Pac's work, Nas' work, and Jay's work, and no doubt that their songs will still be heard in the future.

Saying that Eminem's "best" songs are better than anyone else's "best" songs is just ignorant tbh. You have to remember that 2Pac and Em aren't even on the same skill level lyrically, but on an emotional level, they can portray similar concepts. Comparing songs from different artists is just stupid.. :coffee:

Cleanin' Out My Closet is probably going to last generations too. As long as dysfunctional families exist anyway.

^^

Last question: Eminem was crowned the King Of Hip Hop by Rolling Stone over the summer. As a fellow rapper in the game, what are your thoughts on that? Much deserved? Or maybe not?

JC: I can’t say anything bad about crowning Eminem the King Of Hip Hop. I can’t say anything bad about them crowning Eminem the king of anything. It’s hard to argue that. It’s not like it’s not deserved. The man’s incredible and has been for years, so congrats to him.

Kendrick has recently done a karaoke over an Eminem song, I guess that's not because he inspired him..

Eminem not influential?

I want some of whatever you're smoking. His influence on the game is incredible. And just because someone's favorite artist is Eminem doesn't mean they ignore other artists. Em is MY favorite rapper and yet I listen to a bunch of different rappers. :facepalm

Eminem is king... I disagree BLU, the way I am is more than just that. It's saying "I am who I am I dont give a fuck" Loud and triumphantly! One of eminem's BEST, CLASSIC, flows EVER . Also till I collapse is an absolute classic, it's eminem screaming I run the game and this is why - because I never gave up.

Now as far as my favorite tracks go - it would be something like this

1.Stan
2.Till I collapse
3.Drug Ballad
4.Loose yourself
5.Square Dance
6.Beautiful
7.Criminal
8.Cleaning out my closet
9.Rock Bottom
10.Not Afraid/Soilder~!

Blu wrote:Classic = best. They're synonyms, really.

"The Way I Am" is just Em ranting about how the media portrays him and how tired he is of fans.
"Till I Collapse" is just Em spitting a bunch of syllables, and telling his place in the rap game.
"Sing For The Moment" (while I love it) is pretty much talking about the media again, and how actions have an effect on society.

Think what you want to think, like what you want to like. But this is just stupid. STUPID.
