Well said, saved a lot of time for me.

I am actually disappointed in seeing this news.

Let's have the political debate somewhere else ("Serious Debate" sounds appropriate). I, for one, would be interested in such a "debate".

@ EminemBase, if you're interested in "libertarianism", you should check out Peter Thiel (entrepreneur/co-founder of PayPal & the most successful investor in Facebook/ CEO of hedge fund company, Clarium Capital) and Milton Friedman (economist, won the Nobel prize in economics).

To be honest I am fairly confident he would prefer Gary Johnson.

@ EminemBase do this quiz. You can select Yes, No or Other (Recommend taking a look at the Other options as they are more accurate in portraying an opinion/stance)

I need more sources before I believe this. Eminem is still a controversial figure and someone the Republicans would have a field day with if he's openly accepted among the Democratic party. It does say its a private party so maybe it's not necessarily endorsed by Obama or the actual DNC. It would definitely get young people attention but would provide a lot of negative fodder for the opposing party.

WCNC-TV reported that Eminem, Styx and rapper Nicki Minaj had been confirmed for private parties during the DNC. However, other sources indicated Minaj may be replaced by Flo Rida, while other sources cast doubts on Styx and Eminem.

Why does it have to be one or the other? The reason I suggested these two, is because they're not politicians per se.

- Friedman is one of the "early libertarians" and recognized as one of the most influential economists of the 20th century.

- Peter Thiel, on the other hand, is a "Internet & Technology"-entrepreneur, and a great supporter of Ron Paul (Thiel has donated $2.6 million to his campaign).

Here, Peter Thiel is asked if "giving money to Ron Paul, is just flushing money down the drain".

Calling a political figure a "fuck" makes me laugh. Grow up. No one has the same ideals or morals as the next guy.

Politics has always been this way... and for some reason, these Ron Paul supporters are throwing him down our throats like he's some savior. I'm not saying he would be a bad choice as president, as I definitely think he'd be better than Romney, and possibly Obama. But guess what. One of those two is going to win (and it's clearly going to be Obama), so it's time to let the Ron Paul thing go. Vote for him, go ahead. But I like my vote to matter and I'm going to pick the lesser of the two evils, Barack Obama. So go out and vote for him. Wear your "REVOLUTION" shirt the day after the election, cool. But please, for the love of god, stop slamming him down our throats like he is a godsend for the political world.

This isn't exactly directed at you, and not all Ron Paul supporters, but the ones who think all of his ideas are the only way and that the other two have nothing to offer. It's sickening and almost frightening in itself. I major in political science and I see these supporters all too often.

The United States of America has a two party system, and always will. A man like Ron Paul will never run this country and it's about time people realize that. Republicans are too blind on keeping things the same. They always talk about going back to their "old" conservative ways. The party is a complete joke and their social views are outdated. Ron Paul's social views are awesome.. him and Obama's. I love the guys mostly due to their personalities. But I realize which one has a chance to be president and let it go there. Ron Paul is a little too different for him to have a chance in the Republican party.

It's pretty easy to say someone would make a good president. Whether they would deliver or not is a different subject.

Once again, Obama2012.

Guys, this isn't a political debate thread. Stay on topic. Feel free to take the debate to the debate forum though.

Eminen reportedly isn't afraid to take a political stand and is, according to a Charlotte, N.C. TV station, scheduled to be a part of a private show during the week of the Democratic National Convention in the city.

The WCNC-TV website also reported on its website Thursday night that Slim Shady will share the stage with Nicki Minaj.

The website, however, also cites the Charlotte Observer newspaper's report that claims Minaj may be replaced with rapper Flo-Rida.

Both the WCNC and Charlotte Observer reports cite unnamed sources confirming several entertainers at convention-related parties.

The Charlotte Observer report mentioned that "some" unnamed sources "cast doubts" Eminem will perform.

Messages left Friday morning with Dennis Dennehy, Eminem's publicist, weren't immedately returned to confirm or deny the TV station's report.

When Mlive Detroit contacted the Democratic National Convention's media relations department, a spokesman said he wasn't sure if the report was legit.

But the spokesman claimed someone would get back to us today. Stay tuned.

Source

So the DNC spokesman isn't sure, and Em's people aren't talking. Interesting.

It does fit, as far as Em's apparent political views. Bashing Bush, voting for Obama...he's most likely a Democrat. We'll see if it really is true.

Yeah, for sure. But then what song will any of the other performers do? Flo Rida? Nicki? I think it's weird that they even have musical artists perform in the first place.

yeah that actually makes sense, if anything it may be to get younger audiences in there and then think "well obama had these people i like so i'll vote for them" or even people hear about them and vote for him cause he had these performers
