I think CWYWF is King Mathers.

I mean, this part of the track made me assume it.
And eight years later I'm still at it
Divorce, re-married, a felon, a father, sleepin' pill addict

Sleeping Pill Addict.. so before Relapse. Then he says 8 years later I'm still at it. The SSLP was released in 1999 8 years later would be 2007 (Rumored release year for King Mathers)

Half dead addict Eminem would not admit he's an addict. Both those songs involved that concept, especially My Darling where it's an all out attack on himself and a lot of his drug problems with the deep voice Shady. I've always considered them Relapse sessions, but a lot of people say they're from KM; I just don't believe it lol. Also if you just compare songs like The Apple and GOAT to My Darling and CWYWF the mixing, quality, vocal tones...Too different.

I didn't say My Darling is King Mathers :coffee: I always thought My Darling was intended to come in after the "Dr. West" skit at the beginning of Relapse.

I still think CWYWF was recorded or at least written in 2007 and I am backing that up by the part of the verse I quoted. Especially as he mentions the SSLP and then goes on to say 8 years later I'm still at it. The simplistic rhyming is at the same caliber of Beautiful which was recorded in 2007(?). I think Beautiful and CWYWF do sound quite similar musically don't you? Just like the Apple and GOAT sound similar to one another but nothing like Beautiful/CWYWF.

I guess we will never know bro ;) Although if someone argues that CWYWF was recorded in early 2008 I wouldn't disagree as their guess is as good as mine.

"Fly Away" wasn't, that was made in 2010.

It's obvious that "Careful What You Wish For", "Beautiful" and "Difficult" in particular are from it though, and going from those... it sounds like it could have been a very dark, consistent album.

I wish I could of heard it.

I really wish Careful what you wish for had three verses. I think it's pretty obvious that it wasn't a relapse song. Way older. Great song. King Mathers is a horrible name for an Eminem Album. It's cocky in a way I don't like from Em. Sounds like some shit little wayne would do. King Carter.

I always though Apple and GOAT were Encore's leftovers...and Fly Away was definitely recorded late 09/early 10 from those Just Blaze studios sessions. If I remember correctly, Just said a while ago they had recorded 4 songs with Em' plus another one Em wanted to keep for him : Cold Wind Blows, No Love, Never Over, Session One, + Fly Away.

Hardly obvious. His voice sounds nothing like that lazy, slurred drawl that he raps with for the King Mathers era tracks. He sounds much more intense and focused on CWYWF. I doubt every song he recorded post-drugs was a Relapse-style track. He probably has tons of non-Relapse-ish stuff from 08/09/Relapse-era. And as for the "8 years later" thing, that number probably means nothing. Just sounds better then any other number that he could have said.

This is besides the point, but I just gotta say that "Beautiful" is still probably my favorite song since his comeback.

Nah because I'm pretty positive Em meant it ironically.

All of the songs we know of from 'KM' are moody and self-deprecating and self-loathing; so I think King Mathers was him taking a jab at himself as like 'king of the castle' - 'the rich moody king' kind of thing, like a spoiled brat.

Not until Recovery did Em really ever brag without irony, he's always been very self-aware and self-deprecating in his music, seriously doubt he meant it straight on.

I don't think he meant it in a cocky way either, plus I think that's what cashis or someone else "named" it and they just then referred to it as that...or am i wrong?

Was quite a few that referred to it as that I believe; and whilst I don't think Em ever confirmed it... he referred to himself as it, in something, around that time, right? can't remember what; and I remember reading some articles about it, I believe it was called that.
