Tbh, I don't see the 27-32 year old Em (saying old Em, or 2000-Em makes him sound like fucking computer software!) would diss the like of lets say Katy Perry, Rihanna, etc. Just on the main basis that the popstars of the late noughties weren't as "water-downed" and "clean" as the pop-stars of the late nineties/early noughties, if that makes any sense.
Katy's first single was "I kissed a girl" which I remember got a lot of flack from the Christian community and clashed with her Catholic unbringing. Her other singles off her first album werent that water-down, either. And Rihanna, well she's another story, I think we can all agree that her image and sometimes her content isn't' exactly discrete & subdued. I'm in no means defending those 2 artists, it just that Rihanna & Katy vs Britney & Christina from 1999/2000 are really on completely different universes (even though I started to like Xtina later on).

I think the people he would've disliked are probably One Direction, as many of you say & Taylor Swift, or something. It fucking sucks being a 16 year old girl and the music industry thinking that my demographic could fall for that shit. I'm sick of songs like "What makes you beautiful" and other albums worth of one-dimensional tween love being catered to people my age.

And in the words of Em himself "Young people are alot more clever that people give them credit for" I'd rather listen to a RiRi or Katy Perry cd rather than a One DickErection or Taylor Swift one in the hopes that they'll actually be a Parental Advisory sticker on the front cover.

Exactly. Only difference now is that his shockvalue ability is low, because he has been in the game for 10+ years. Ofcourse he cant strike the way he did back than, even if he actually sounded just the same and talked about the same things (wait a minute, that would completely suck and not shock at all...).
Matter of fact, he actually thought his days were over after his second album. But he still managed to shock people. Then the movie 8 mile, the eminem show, fucking Encore shocked people.
Then he "died" and wasnt seen for years. Relapse comes out (which shocked the fuck out of us stans) and it get little to none apreciation from the radio etc. Because of the game had changed! You couldnt come out and say "I WILL KILL YOU" and get heard. That time had passed.
So he scrapped relapse 2 ( ) and made recovery instead, which fucking rocketered him to legend level.
But its still him for fucks sake. I thought Hell the sequal was proof of that.

Blu doesnt seem to get what Im saying. With songs like LTWYL and Not Afraid he became this down to earth loveble guy that anyone could listen to. Before that only hardcore hiphop fans could listen to him. I.e maybe recovery did the same thing as 8 mile did back in the day. It showed another side of him.
