Numb leaked in November and the album doesn't come out until probably this summer. That's a 7-8 month gap.
right but a 1 - 2 verse gap

You really don't think he's written 2 verses since then, do you?

I know but that's not the argument. He made it out like he hasn't made a single song since then lmao. He probably made 10 songs yesterday alone.

Damn, how could I forget? ...soon he will have material for a new one, maybe a greatest hits will be his last album.

I doubt very much that is going to be his last album.

Btw eminem has to be one of the few important artists without a Greatest Hits album. And it would be a success for sure.

and one with songs in the style of kill you, lose yourself, square dance, criminal

I don't think he'll have enough material for one. This will be his third album (or 3 1/2) since CC, while there were four albums before it.

Well I don't think it's vital to the general public, his true legacy or his sales; regardless of what you think about Encore, Relapse and Recovery - he still always finds some way of resonating with something and with Relapse and Recovery, still put a lot of effort in to be different and rap his ass off... but just for a fan like me, it's vital in terms of a make or break point for 'can he make a classic', or can he get back to that consistency and standard he had back in his prime.

No. He will not top the MMLP and TES as pieces of work. Following that up with Lose Yourself and 8 mile made him a rap and pop culture icon. He's amassed enough critical claim, by far, already, to need to achieve anything else.

Recovery cemented his "comeback", if you're talking about the media, worldwide average listeners and general music fans perceptions. Even most of his long-term fans found something they loved in Relapse or Recovery, and he made a lot of new fans as well.

This next album is only vital if he values the opinion of 'hip hop heads' on the internet / underground rap fans who (legitimately, possibly) feel his latest work isn't up to scratch. And no shit, it's going to be quite tough to change their opinions.

Exactly. Only hardcore Stans overreact to those things
No. Only hardcore Stans buy Eminem albums without buying anything from other artists so they never get a point a reference. This is why hardcore Stans actually don't overract to it because they're able to convert Em's shit into gold.

They aren't going to listen to every song 1,000 times until the punchline setups start to bother them either.

Overall, I think his position is fairly secure. If he tops Recovery even in a minor way, he could retire safe and sound. If he really delivers, he might succeed in un-bunching the panties of a couple hundred negatrons scattered across the internet, on top of being the most successful rapper of all time.

This.
