This is so wrong. His skills, his talent, his dedication, all the things EmBase said-that makes him a role model. Not his private life and problems. He is an inspiration for going against all ods, through hard times and become a great and respected in whatever you do. His private life has nothing to do with that.
I want to play basketball like MJ, not fuck as he does and raise my kids the way he raises his.

Well Jordan have definitely been inspiration to me at some point if I gotta be honest... like I said Em as an artist is more than genius, you need 10 pages at least to even describe what he is or what he has done as an artist & how great he is. Like I said mad props about it, mad props about him coming from nothing, getting to more than something, touching the sky fighting all the way. Hands down!

But we're all different people, let's say I can't have him as role model or idolize him apart what he is as an artist 'cuz since I follow him like 98 or whatever he's done so many wack, lame & at times stupid things. I'm nobody in position to be a critic to him about whatever & I'm not been one right now. I simply put my opinion why I never saw him as a role model or idolized him even though he's been my fave music artist all that time. I never even go deep into his personal life to judge on him, I was never really interested in him apart the music.
Then again I respect you or the people you mentioned idolizing him or having him as a role model 'cuz like I said we are all different people. You all obviously have your reasons to see him as a role model or idolizing him for whatever. Cool!

Still... Don't get it wrong, I definitely think he's a true great & unique & I definitely don't criticize him. I just have my own reasons why not to have him as a role model or idolize him. As simple as that.

Eminem and Arnold Schwarzenegger tbh

Letter to Detroit shows me just how much Em cares about his people and his home. But the story of what he was to what he is is what makes him so motivational to me.
Also his music..

That was lovely, was there a reason he did this?

I've never had a list, or a role model. I admire Eminem for some reasons. I think he is really talented, he made it to be a big star being a white rapper and left behind his old "white trash" life.
But I never tried to be like Eminem obviously, we are too different , so are our lifes. If something I try to learn something, for example I always liked that way he has to deffend himself like in the final battle of 8 mile when he said all those things about his life and finally he said, now tell these people something they don't know about me...killed it.
In the land of the killers, a sinner's mind is a sanctum.

^^Its about drawing inspiration or motivation from him and what he did, achieveing something he was always told was impossible. Just take the basics of it and apply it to yourself, to be inspired by him doesnt mean you have to be a rapper.

Personally what i have got from Em, as well as the motivation to do things is the attitude that i dont have to give a fuck about what other people think of stuff.
And that its cool to kill people.

He has been my number 1 artist of all time since I heard the Slim Shady LP, that's the first album I heard and I was hooked. When I was younger, I used to listen to alot of defferent genre's but never had a favourite artist/band. Then I heard Slim Shady and it was a whole new side of music that I loved. Then I went back and looked up any previous work he did and listened to Infinite, Slim Shady EP and Soul Intent. Just his story alone is insperational, how much he has evloved, the fact that he came from nothing and 10 year's later because the highest selling artist of that decade. "Lose Yourself" is an incredibly great song (my fav of any genre) that basically highlight's his whole "Eminem life style from starting with nothing, living in a trailer park to standing up and pushing your full potential". Just the fact that a white kid mastered a black sport is enough. I'm confident that I will never respect some in music as much as I do him, I would see him as a role model in that sence, but I wouldn't based on the content of most of his song's and drug history.
If you had one shot, or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted, would you capture it? Or just let it slip?

Kinda because of things like growin up in a certain place i had to do certain things i today regret with out going into to much detail things that i should never have done like goin jail and bein away from my kid for a long period. Em grew up in a place similar to me, poor like me had responsibilties like i did as a parent but he didn't choose the path of crime but still made it out to be where he is now. That's inspiring for anyone who grew up in the hood.
