Some people in this section bitched incessantly when Rolling Stone "only" named MMLP2 the 24th best album of 2013, even though that easily places it in their top 1% of albums released in the year, once both mainstream and indie records are taken into account. Saying MMLP2 is better than 99% of the year's released albums wasn't good enough for some people here because they dared to like Darth Kanye, official Stan nemesis (even though he couldn't give a shit what Eminem fans think of him, I'm sure), just a little bit more. That's the type of shit that grinds my gears.

I think that people just need to stop being butthurt over others opinions. Lists mean nothing to me, even if they're not in agreement with my ordering. I have left comments on those lists in question but they were from a sarcastic viewpoint. Everything is subjective at the end of the day and i think this forum is the best environment to lose that sensitivity we have for our fave artist. as long we're confident in our taste, then no ones comments should effect us :)

If a critic agrees with you, seeing as appreciation of music is very subjective, then as far as you're concerned it's the only publication worth anything.
Why would I listen to a critic whose tastes differ from mine, it makes no sense people.

Right, yeah. That's the thing -- everybody's lists are completely meaningless. People catching feels over that shit is just sad. If somebody likes an album (MMLP2, for instance), they shouldn't need that opinion validated by anybody else.

"No two people have the same exact
taste."
It doesn't need to be exact, if a reviewer likes Relapse, odds are he'll be into other rhyme heavy stuff, so I'll check out his reccommendations.
I agree with everything the above reviewer said, so odds are I'll like other stuff he likes, our tastes are similar.
I dont need anybody to agree with me, I follow Spin, Pitchfork and NME, we don't always agree but I'll check out something Spin highly reccs. cos we have similar tastes, understand?
...
"The content of the review is much more
important than the score in
determining if I want to hear an
album."
Which is why I said in an earlier post, it isn't so much the score as it is the sentiments expressed in the review.
Also, you seem to have a barely veiled contempt for the Eminem section, wassup with that?

Pitchfork writers need to get over their deeply rooted, subconcious hatred of all things popular probably stemming from their high school days when all the cheerleaders ignored them and the jocks bullied 'em.
They're semi-decent other than that.
Also, the Eminem section doesn't really come off as uber-stannish to me, but to each his own.
I can't stand the hip-hop domain myself, so meh.

Horsebot3K wrote:Pitchfork doesn't have a bias against popular things, imo. Maybe a bias against Eminem, which is unfortunate, but their top 50 albums of the year includes Vampire Weekend, Kanye, Daft Punk, Arcade Fire, Drake, A$AP Rocky, M.I.A., Justin Timberlake, and Pusha T. Their focus is introducing people to good indie music, but they don't neglect the mainstream and I like that. Lots of popular songs on their top 100 tracks of 2013 too.

Do I hear the statement that someone has an BIAS AGAINST EMINEM? Said in the EMINEM SECTION?

The only popular artists you mentioned are JT and Drake, neither of whom are as popular as Em.
They prolly just like JT 'cos he's pretty and can relate to Drake's feminine ways...
I'm kidding btw, since no one on here seems to get my humour.
Pitchfork still WOAT tho.
Shoutout StayWideAwake and EminemBound and HopsinShadie, y'all haven't posted in a bit. Post mahfckers, post.

I said "maybe." The reviewer didn't seem very well informed about Eminem's career and it always helps to have a background of info on the artist, but I'm not accusing them of truly being biased, hence the "maybe." The 1.6 for Camp, though -- that shit was biased.

Who the fuck are you anyway? I love Eminem and MMLP2, just not as much as some of you fgts.

didn't you catch my sarcasm bro :(

you on my don't joke list now
