Now that would be great news, i'm pretty sure the next Em album will be back to the roots...stop with the Rihanna tracks and go back to do tracks with your boys Em

Wow Mr.Porter, DJ Khalil AND Focus in the same studio? DAMN!!! Focus is so fucking underrated!!!
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Huh, he worked with Khalil on MMLP2 and Recovery.

Back to the roots = Bass Brothers, not fkn Khalil.

^ This.

Plus some Dre (preferably beats from the vault - late 90's). I also think he needs to use Luis Resto more and bring back Mike Elizondo.

But fundamentally it goes down to what beats he chooses, Recovery was terrible for beats but I also felt like the mixing and engineering wasn't on point, always fighting with the beat to be heard more.

I think one of the biggest reasons that people don't think about in terms of the production in the last 10 or so years is the change in technology though. What I'd love is for Em to go back to using analogue rather than through digital systems. SSLP & MMLP were all analogue and only on Eminem Show did they start to switch to digital systems with Pro Tools. I think sonically Em suits analogue way more than digital, that's why MMLP sounded so consistent and solid. The sounds used within the beats too - I don't like loads of synthesisers and computer generated type sounds with Ems music - part of the reason it took me a while to like Rap God was because of that. There's a Mike Elizondo interview somewhere where he talks about this I'll try to dig it up..

Here's that article

Lol he's not even producing the song he's on on Pharoahe's album. It's a shame, he used to be such a sick producer. Fuck this new dEnAuN pseudo-intellectual persona, go back to your jazz-influenced style.

He didn't stop, he just said he's back in the studio producing.
Not to forget that he might have saved some of the beats he initially made for MMLP2 for his next project or any other project he might be involved in.

Well for Recovery and MMLP 2 he worked with a lot of outside producers. I understood it for Recovery. He wanted to go in a new direction asap and if he's only concentrated on writing lyrics and the content of the song and leave the production to other people, he can put it out faster. But he had 3 years for this one. I think most of us expected the bulk of the production to be handled by him, especially since it was so top secret a lot of us assumed it was because he was doing most of the work himself, in private.

I think his sound used to be so unique and now that he's starting to work with other dudes, his beats are not as signature.
