So lets see... His latest album was almost entirely about eating babies, raping woman and murdering people. Yeah... That's going straight on the family album list, sure.

You just think he's pop because he's followed a lame formula with his singles to ensure continued success. But that's a detriment to his originality in wanting to make new concepts each time. Not an indication that he's a pop star.

"3am" couldn't be less pop. The whole album is anti-commercial.

The man who calls his own fans retards, his record label assholes and himself a psycho does not make pop music. That is not pandering to the masses.

A large build up of his fans is young girls who fancy him. So if he was making love songs where he tried to appeal to them for instance, that would make him one. But chopping people up and turning into Buffalo Bill isn't that. It couldn't be further away from that.

His songs are absolutely dedicated to the art of rhyme. He's totally and utterly committed to his genre. The art for the art's sake. He is by no means, in any way shape or form a pop star. He doesn't dumb down or pander. He speaks above the listener.
