Royce also said Relapse was gonna be incredible, so i would not listen to him at all. Eminem should just give a little bit of news on R2, the only people who seem to talk about it is his peers.

relapse is incredible

relapse is in no way incredible. Good but not incredible and no way an atomic bomb to the game

Relapse is the best mainstream rap album released in years...given the horrendous state of rap before it was released, it was an "atomic bomb." Absolutely no one familiar with his recent work thought Eminem would be able to put out a decent album anymore, let alone a genuinely good one.

You guys are misquoting the fuck out of Royce. He said he's waiting to see what Em's album is about to do to the game (BECAUSE OF THAT IMPACT EM ALWAYS HAS, ITS LIKE AN EVENT). He hadn't heard any of Relapse before it was released. He just expected it to destroy the game because he's Em's biggest Stan. And that twitter saying it's like "Eminem's Black Album" wasn't actually Royce, so there.

And no, Relapse wasn't an atomic bomb. It had absolutely no impact on the game. No one was talking about it (besides these boards, and Em fans), weeks after it came out. It was like, okay it was released, now what? People talked about BP3 more than Relapse (NO I AM NOT SAYING BP3 IS BETTER). Wicked shit has been done in hip-hop, sometimes better.

Relapse works as a CONCEPT album, it just didn't work as a comeback album. Em hadn't dropped a fuckin' solo record in five years, and then he drops that. Fuck that.

Relapse was good for what it was, a concept album. I'll always respect work that stays true to the craft, but I won't force myself to listen to something I'm not feeling.

HOWEVER

It wasn't an atomic bomb to the game whether you like it or not. It didn't change the game, and it wasn't revolutionary. It was just high-caliber rhymes over confused Dre beats. It didn't have that Eminem-impact that you expect.

thats where youre wrong

after that album... [and this is what I thank the most about it]... other rappers (including Jay-Z), want to step their game up so they can be considered "as dope" as Eminem. They are mimiking the style, thankfully changing for last syllable on bar rhymes, to more complex and poetic rhyming, which after a second impulse with Relapse 2, the Rap game will Hopefully come back to Make RAP/HIP HOP, instead of making Plies featuring T-Pain bullshit. :y: :worship:

How do you come up with this shit? You dumbasses on this board are fuckin' airheads, straight up. Give me one song where Jay-Z goes without using multis for more than two lines? I really bet you're going to sort through all his material to find that, haha. No one is "mimiking" his serial killer style unless you mean underground Stan, wannabe rappers (like a shitload on this board).

Multis aren't new to the game, no rappers ever stopped using them, you just discovered them by listening to Em. Even some of the wackest rappers today use multis, it's no biggie.

Try every single song on Blueprint 3. Jay-Z hardly even uses multis anymore. He is absolutely horrid now...pretty much the equivalent to the pilled out version of Eminem.

Talk about "selling out." Jeez.

This is just a sad joke.... Eminem obviously did fall off at one point, theres no debating that and I don't think anybody thinks he's back to his prime and probably won't ever be. Royce on the other hand is at his pinnacle right at this moment. Just because he's not selling records and all over the radio does not mean he fell off.

A sad joke or a sad reality? Don't want to derail the thread but I'll entertain your argument via Pm if you insist.
