relapse is incredible

watevermannnn wrote:You guys are misquoting the fuck out of Royce. He said he's waiting to see what Em's album is about to do to the game (BECAUSE OF THAT IMPACT EM ALWAYS HAS, ITS LIKE AN EVENT). He hadn't heard any of Relapse before it was released. He just expected it to destroy the game because he's Em's biggest Stan. And that twitter saying it's like "Eminem's Black Album" wasn't actually Royce, so there.
And no, Relapse wasn't an atomic bomb. It had absolutely no impact on the game. No one was talking about it (besides these boards, and Em fans), weeks after it came out. It was like, okay it was released, now what? People talked about BP3 more than Relapse (NO I AM NOT SAYING BP3 IS BETTER). Wicked shit has been done in hip-hop, sometimes better.
Relapse works as a CONCEPT album, it just didn't work as a comeback album. Em hadn't dropped a fuckin' solo record in five years, and then he drops that. Fuck that.

thats where youre wrong
after that album... [and this is what I thank the most about it]... other rappers (including Jay-Z), want to step their game up so they can be considered "as dope" as Eminem. They are mimiking the style, thankfully changing for last syllable on bar rhymes, to more complex and poetic rhyming, which after a second impulse with Relapse 2, the Rap game will Hopefully come back to Make RAP/HIP HOP, instead of making Plies featuring T-Pain bullshit.![]()

This is just a sad joke.... Eminem obviously did fall off at one point, theres no debating that and I don't think anybody thinks he's back to his prime and probably won't ever be. Royce on the other hand is at his pinnacle right at this moment. Just because he's not selling records and all over the radio does not mean he fell off.
