You're taking out the worst lines from that song. I could do the same for My Name Is:

I could find loads more, from any one of his meaningless first singles. Real Slim Shady has some. Without Me has some. I'm fine with this song, doesn't lower my expectations for the album one bit.

The "next semester I'll be 35" was a censored lyric. The real one was a lot funnier. In either case it's still not nearly as bad as the lines I quoted.

Anyway, the point is the proportion of weak lines is much higher in WBD than it is in songs like The Real Slim Shady & My Name Is. He is literally saying poop jokes in WBD.

Poop jokes are saying you do drugs too much, who you're gonna shag and saying how you're gonna do 'silly things.. Which is My Name is. Wont Back Down violates the English language.

Well, when I finished Relapse, I had a whole album of material that didn't make it that I wasn't ready to throw away, so that was going to be Relapse 2. But then I got with Dre in Hawaii and started recording more, and now the new material has knocked out all the old songs. But yeah, the new material is definitely different. Making Relapse, I was still working the drugs out of my system, so there was a lot of...just jokey shit. It was a lot of punchline-y, funny, shock value—kind of going back to The Slim Shady LP. And that was cool, but I've kind of flipped the page. Now I'm going for songs instead of one-liners. I don't want to make shit that you hear once and then the joke's over; I want to make records that you could play a hundred times, a thousand times.

smh Won't Back Down is exactly that. its not a song, its just a bunch of punchlines strung together.

how exactly does he rap circles around My Name Is on WMY? his rhymes were decent... but add fart sounds, a crappy chorus, a stupid silly accent, & the fact that he gratuitously namedrops about 20 popculture figures as opposed to My Name Is' 3 or so... & you have a song much worse than My Name Is.

let's not forget We Made You was meant to be funny & wasn't, & My Name Is was funny.. but that's subjective.

Because fart sounds and an accent are things that your letting affect your subjective opinion on it, i'm contesting the rapping and you bring up trivial sound effects. It's really funny (and predictable) that a ton of people on this site (and other places) will ALWAYS find something to bitch about. No one is going to be happy, ever. Some of you will only be happy if you have something to bitch about. No matter how good this Recovery album is going to be, the bottom line is that some of you (a lot of you) will not like it and will be the first to bash it. I know opinions are like assholes, and everyone has one, but the truth of the matter is that ems old albums, including the MMLP and the SSLP were also punch-liney songs. I don't get some of you, and I don't care to. But the fact of the matter is, you're free to express how you feel. At the end of the day, however, you sound like broken records. First it was his "accent." Then on NA he even acknowledges this "accent" and says he will not use it again. "Won't back down" leaks, and now I hear people complaining about an "Angry voice." Seriously, wtf is up with all that? You guys need to find something else to complain about because it's really getting old. smh
