Yes, Not Afraid sol aboutd ~400k in its first week, but mainly because of the hype - it's the longetivity and airplay which will affect the allbum sales. And as of now, the airplay is just decent for Not Afraid.

What really will be a major factor if the album will have great first week sales is if the response from the fans and the general public is great. The album will leak this week - and if the response is underwhelming, the hype will def. be affected (-), but if the response is overwhelming - the hype will increase and US sales could hit as much as 700k surely.

Airplay really doesnt help rappers sell records anymore, just ask Flo Rida, who has 2 of the most Over-played songs in the history of the radio, and dropped to of the biggest flops as well, Both his albums combined wouldnt be a Gold CD

Hard to call album sales these days, I still say it will sell well but I'm not gonna throw a number out there

The later it leaks the higher the sales will be, so far so good. But overall sales are down this year on albums.

So far reception is great ,the reviews are great and 99% people who heard it like it.The sales are great and its climbing up the charts( because of the sales :tounge2: ).Music video is brilliant and it's making buzz.To bad wbd harm it a bit.

What's all this first week shit? Why doesn't anyone ever talk about how much the album will sell in general? Is it just because of LIl Wayne? I think we should let this gay Eminem/Lil Wayne competition go. You guys sound like Em has something to prove against Wayne when he doesn't. He's already the biggest selling rap act of all-time and he owned that first week sale shit a decade ago twice as hard as Lil Wayne. Let's see Weezy move the units Em does now in ten years. I'll be surprised if anyone even gives a fuck about Lil Wayne.

Anyway, I think Recovery will be the biggest album of 2010. The fact that he released a non-jokey first single is a pleasant surprise to a lot of casual fans. First week sales can range anywhere from 500k to a mil.
Caution to the wind, complete freedom. Look at these rappers, how I treat 'em, so why the fuck would I join 'em when I beat 'em?

600.000
"So one last time, I’m back
Before it fades into black and it’s all over
Behold the final chapter in the saga,
Trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice
The magic that started it all
Tragic portrait of an artist tortured
Trapped in his own drawings
Tapping the thoughts
Blacker and darker than anything imaginable
Here goes a wild stab in the dark
As we pick up the last Mathers’ last art"
