Never, ever, ever, fucking ever, ever let your first impression of an Em song be your last. I can't count how many great songs I would have missed if I would have not given them another chance. Em's stuff really grows on you.

That album was boring. A huge let down for me. I expected much more

Really? I've never had such a shock after first listening to a album - for Nas to bring out the verses he did on that CD almost 20 years into his career is just astonishing. Production is so vivid also.

Im with you Mike - Distant Relatives was love at 1st listen to me, atm I cant compare it to Recovery because I am seriously hooked on Recovery!

I can see people where let down by DR, it was more Reggae/World Music than hiphop but I found it refreshing
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

I liked DR, Strong Will Continue still gets alot of play, same with Nah Mean, a little too much reggae for me though. But i like Recovery better so far. Just so many differant types of beats, concepts and great lyricism.
But did anybody else here like that B.o.B album? I thought it was pretty good myself

Probably the truest statement ever....

No joke...I've gone back to SSLP years after its release to find songs I realized were absolutely awesome. I dont know what it is, but you really need to sample his stuff in multiple moods cause certain songs can rub you the wrong way if you dont have the right mindset.

My first response to anyone who doesnt like asong after first listen is "check the lyrics"...listen to his song while reading. Brings so much more appreciation to his stuff...
