1st off, I never hated Encore, I actually love it. I don't get why people (and Eminem) hate it. It's sick, just like all his albums. I'm gonna compare the albums now (with bonus tracks)...

Because the lyrics are awful, the flow is awful, the content is embarrassing, his voice is awful, and the beats are awful.

Otherwise, it's awesome, so I agree...why do people hatez it?

-Comedy: Encore wins
Rainman and Big Weenie are hilarious. Plus, Eminem lost his "funny" voice on Recovery. Even when he tried to be funny, it just wasn't the same.

WHAT? ENCORE HAS BETTER LYRICS? Yep. It does. Recovery has sick series of rhymes like in On Fire and WBD, but that's radio freestyle shit. Despicable had my jaw dropped, but I don't want that shit on an album. Encore's lyrics were much more focused on the song topic (minus the obvious screw-around tracks.) "smash an hour glass, grab the sand, take his hands an cuff em, spin around to freeze the clock, take the hands of time and cuff em." Yeah, sick lines, but what's he saying? That he's sick. We've known that since SSLP, he's beating a dead horse. Plus, Recovery went overboard with the punchlines. Clever, yes. Meaningful, no.

Encore has the worst lyricism of any album by a serious rapper, ever.

The serious songs on Encore...atrocious lyrically. When you write shit like, "Hailie I know you miss your mom/And I know you miss your dad/But all I wanted was to give you the life that you never had/I can see you're sad, even when you smile, even when you laugh/Deep inside, you wanna cry".....you are writing lyrics that any 4th grader in the world could come up with.

Going Through Changes kills all the "serious songzzz" on Encore a quintillion times over. So does "Love The Way You Lie," for that matter. So does "You're Never Over," for that matter. Hell, even Talkin 2 Myself is better than any of the God awful attempts at concept songs on Encore.

And then there are the OTHER songs on Encore, which feature a bunch of fart noises, puking noises, grade school humor, and embarrassing gibberish that doesn't even rhyme well.

Yes, the punchlines on Recovery suck...that's not enough to bring it down to Encore level. Encore is rock bottom (no pun intended).

Saying the lyrics on Encore are better than those on Recovery is like saying Shaq is a better free throw shooter than Chauncey Billups.

-Emotion/Personal Tracks: Tie (but I lean towards Encore)
Talkin' 2 Myself/Going Through Changes/Not Afraid/You're Never Over/Almost Famous are matched by Evil Deeds/Yellow Brick Road/Like Toy Soldiers/Mockingbird/Ricky Ticky Toc

Evil Deeds--Sucks.

Yellow Brick Road--Mostly sucks.

Like Toy Soldiers--Sucks.

Mockingbird--Sucks.

Ricky Ticky Toc--Sucks. Plus, it's a bonus song.

-Banger/Club tracks: Encore
Encore/Never Enough/Never Enough trump W.T.P. (The only track on Recovery that has any dance potential)

Nobody ever banged Encore at any club. Nobody ever banged Eminem at any club, period. He's not a club banger rapper. He's not Lil John/Soulja Boy. The fact that he even tried to do shit like that from 2003-2007 shows just how far gone his brain was when he was on pills.

-Love/girl/Kim tracks: Tie (Again, I lean towards Encore)
Seduction/Space Bound/So Bad/LTWYL are matched by Puke/Spend Some Time/Crazy in Love/Love You More

Puke--Sucks.

Spend Some Time--Eminem's verse was actually decent, but the rest of the verses are awful, so the song is over after Eminem's verse.

Crazy In Love--Sucks.

Love You More--Sucks.

-Flows: Encore
Encore had much more diversity, and I really just liked its flows better.

You like monotonous, shot-voiced, spill-over forcing? That's all Encore had. Every song had forced, awful flow.

His flow wasn't particularly great on most of Recovery, either, but it still had some songs where he nailed it...and it was never as bad as it was on tracks like Mockingbird and Mosh.

-Beats: Encore
Encore. Way more unique beats, and they just came together to make a more coherent album. Eminem should have given Dre WAY more tracks on Recovery. Bad choice buddy.

Something either is or isn't unique. It can't be "more unique." The beats on Encore were trash. The My First Single beat is the worst beat ever made...sounds like someone banging a door stop to some drums. I seriously think that's what it was. Eminem fell on a door stop after swallowing one too many Valiums. He got up and went, "Yo.......Dre..............were u..............recordin?......."

-Voice/delivery: Encore
Eminem’s voice has changed and gotten deeper. He can’t help it, but I like his old voice better.

His voice on Encore was consistently shot and monotonous...well, aside from Ass Like That with that lovely accent. It was absolutely awful.

His voice was shot on a lot of tracks on Recovery, but he had enough energy to not rap in a monotone and find ways to switch it up.

-Features: Encore
Dre/50/D12/Nate Doog are classic. Don’t mess with it. I know 50 has fallen off and Nate’s dying, but I’m just comparing what’s on the albums. Slaughterhouse is ill, but they didn’t belong. Make a Re-Up 2.

50 Cent is the worst rapper ever. He's absolute garbage. Any song with him on it is immediately tainted.

Nate Dogg...seems Eminem found a guy who can sing in exactly the same manner on "Cinderella Man."

ReUp was absolute garbage. If Eminem made a ReUp 2, we'd know he relapsed and will be dead within a couple months.

I miss Paul. I miss Ken. I miss Eminem not giving a fuck and never apologizing. I miss his sarcasm. I miss the “Dre” sound. I miss Shady. Encore has more diverse topics (example:Mosh). I loved Encore basically.
