They claim that I'm violent, just cause I refuse to be silent
These hypocrites are havin fits, cause I'm not buyin it
Defyin it, envious because I will rebel against
any oppressor, and this is known as self defense
I show no mercy, they claim that I'm the lunatic
But when the shit gets thick, I'm the one you go and get
Don't look confused, the truth is so plain to see
Cause I'm the nigga that you sell-outs are ashamed to be

i feel like on fire and underground would be a better comparison even though i def think on fire is better..... but i think em could do a way better job on underground now if he were to redo the song.... underground could be much better

I just listened to Underground after a long period of not listening. Wow. It's like he's boxing that fucking beat. For what it is, it's a sick song.

finally someone that agrees with me. Underground is sick. and i don't get the concept that everyone is talking about in Almost Famous.

Underground and AF are absolutely nothing alike, wtf are ya'll talking about.

Underground isnt' "telling a story" lmfao, just because a few lines and relevant to the lines before it doesn't mean the entire song is a story telling song, like AF.

Underground was by far the best track on Relapse IMO, it was completely, 100% slim shady. Lyrical murder he displayed on that beat.

That being said, I still like AF better. Song is top 3 on Recovery IMO. "Low on the totem til' he showed em, defiance, giant scrotum" ...LOVE that line.

^They're both rapping as underground artists with stories (Em's drug problems and Em getting signed respectively) intertwined within the crazy lyrics.

There is NO story in Underground. The song has a few references to drugs, but it is hardly about drugs. It's mot about killing people in weird ways.

And how is Eminem "rapping as an underground artist" in underground? Please don't tell me you think that because of the name....

He's rapping like fucking Eminem. That's the Eminem of the SSLP/MMLP days.

Erm, no. He's rapping like he's in the hip hop shop. Completely random fucking lyrics. Em in SSLP/MMLP was telling more stories, making more sense. In the Hip Hop Shop days, and in Underground, he was just rhyming words that rhymed - completely random.

And there is a slight story in there. See my post on the first page.
