There's a strong correlation between how bad the beat is and how bad Eminem will be. As soon as I heard that 808 sound, I knew it was going to be a shit song.

Definitely an abysmal song. Don't you think his rhyming, flow and delivery were all good after the "rear, rear, rear" bit though?

His flow and delivery after the rear part sounded identical to his Celebrity verse, listen to them both and let me know what you think?

I definitely wouldn't say 'identical' man.

His voice and style is totally different, I get that you just meant the flow and delivery / rhythm of the lines though; the only thing similar is the way he emphasizes each multi, like he hammers each succeeding multi like he delivered the last to make them stand-out. But no, other than that, they're different flows, styles and deliveries to my ears.

I really love when he emphasizes rhyme schemes in this way though, in particular I love the "Fame" verse, he does it very well there. Majorly badass verse too.

PS. after just listening to this verse a few more times, I really am not feeling the same way about it as most aka it being awful. I thought the 'rear, rear, rear' thing was quite clever. Obviously it's silly, stupid and fairly easy, but to make the siren noises themselves in to the pun, and then continue the rhyme and association with 'squad car', and then the way he compactly delivers those next lines, with inside and outside rhymes, keeping that flow, it's pretty badass.

The song is utter shit, and his appearance is ridiculously short. But I think it's good.

After the ''rear, rear, rear'' part, it's okay. Everything else about the song...

When I say it's good or bad, I'm talking just about his verse though.

No way am I or is I think anybody disputing the actual song, it's awful.

But I really don't hear that verse as awful; I think he's beginning to get his playful wit just about right, he's mixing silly (on face-value) sound effects / with sinister tones, where as on like Encore, he just made stupid noises, with stupid tones. But he's sounding mean, dark, he's got that attitude, the rhyming and flows are great, the delivery is razor sharp, and he's actually becoming genuinely funny again IMO. Like, the twat thing on "Loud Noises", I think that's funny and insulting as shit.

As to why he'd jump on this song, my guess is that him and Paul are intentionally making very short collaborations (to keep fans thirsting for more, especially after this long of no solo stuff), but on songs that are bound to have a big reach ie. Pink, Rihanna. As he's not compromising himself for these songs, but the actual songs are generic... so I think he's intentionally popping up on big pop songs, with experimental, and very short appearances so a lot of people hear it, and want more. And given that these collabs have come in such a successive row, with two big singles (50, Skylar) coming in Nov, then Dec; it all appears to be for calculated album build-up.

I also have a suspicion that Em may be aware of the criticism of pop on Recovery and so perhaps he's intentionally featuring on pop songs on OTHER albums so that he doesn't have to compromise for his next album aka; these songs are effectively acting AS singles, rather than him having to water anything down for his actual album singles. That's a bit of a hope, but I think it's plausible.

they have a terrible taste in music that's why they're Rihanna fans. They'll love her even if her whole album is 'i'm going numb i'm going numb numb numb numb numb numb numb numb'

I know most of us are against that fansdown movement and shit, but we definitely should raise the alarm or something via Twitter. We can't let Em ruins his legacy like this, it's just unbearable.

He's been ruining his legacy for awhile now, we're gonna reach of point of no return if no one from his entourage's got the balls to tell him to stop dropping shitty verses.

i dunno wtf is going on his mind. he doesn't care about his reputation/legacy no more and is doing music just for fun?

sure I liked his flow/delivery and voice after rear rear part but the content is shitty and even kinda inexcusable considering it's Eminem's verse. we all know what he could do.

and don't come at me with 'it's just a verse on pop song what did you expect'
there's gotta be a standard especially when you got a reputation. plus collabs does count. every verse an artist makes counts whether it's on a formal album or not. and he used to put some efforts into collabs in the past just not anymore.

the thing bothers me the most is that it is so obvious that it took less than 30 minutes for him to write this verse with no contemplation and he still got some nerves to put it out. he cannot and shouldn't do that if he cares about his reputation and wanna get back on top of the game again.

Man c'mon, I'd take any of his verses from his "gangster period" over his verse on Numb.

:facepalm Man but we're talking about verse from pop song. I wouldn't even want to hear some serious verse on track called "Numb" with Rihanna... i wouldn't want him to waste his bars for verses like this. So i don't give a fuck about content on his pop guest appearances and when other things like his flow, delivery, voice and rhymes are good i have no fuckin problem with it.
