My favourite line is where he says sequel to scary movies.

The song has grown on me. You have to understand that they are just fucking around with the mic on this one. That being said, I hope this is the last song of this kind on the album. I want a more cohesive project, even if it is full of battle raps.

I think this is one of those songs that has to grow on a lot of people. A lot of people seem to say they don't like it or are unsure about it on the first listen, and then later they're like "ehh, it's not so bad." Sooo maybe in time it'll gain more fans.

I also noticed quite a few people saying "this song sucks, but..." and then they point out some positive things about the song. So, I think it'll grow on some folks. Not all, but some.

^Yeah, it isn't that rare for me not really liking a song at the first listen, I still do the error to judge. Same thing with new drinks, you should give them more chances.

But, let's be honest, Encore was written and created while Proof was still here, so I don't think we can say it's all about Proof's death. There has been a steady decline in the quality of his music since 2004

No way. Since I have a bit of time on my hands today, I decided to open up Paint and illustrate the reality. By "steady decline since 2004" you mean something like this:

When really, the timeline goes something like this:

:hooray:

I think 1997 should be higher, though, since so much of SSLP is off the EP. He first wrote and recorded Rock Bottom that year as well. Main difference between 97 Eminem and 99 Eminem is he got better studio mastering and Dre had him upping his delivery.

This song is more "BME" than people give it credit for...the beat fits the style, their rapping fits the style, and their lyrics are more "BME" than Fast Lane was. Whereas Fast Lane was full of punchlines (with somewhat of a story), this song has both storytelling and punchlines mixed...

It's not groundbreaking storytelling, but each of their verses are descriptive and less random.

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

This song definitely does grow on you.

I still don't consider it great. But I like it a lot more than I did.

And, like I said to begin with, the saving grace is the end trading. But still, meh.

I think his delivery, though, is great. It's what I like most about it. I also love Porter's production...

I didn't like it on first listen, but it definitely grew on me. Now I really like it. :y:

It's growing on me. I've only heard it 3 or 4 times, but I already like it more than Fast Lane.

I love the hook.

With regard to the graph of Eminem's quality vs. time...2002 should be much higher.

Has anyone seen the Hangover 2? Maybe there's some context as to why the song is so weird at the beginning and picks up at the end.

But yeah, it has grown a lot on me.

Even though I like it...this is kind of worrying. I think it's decent as a song, but it's not up to [what should be] Eminem's standards.

We've heard two songs so far, and with each one, we've gotten the "I like it, but I hope it's the only/last song like this on the album."

What happens when it comes out and most (or all) of the songs consist of Em and Royce just messing around like this?
