really this is all caused by the retards who went crazy about Forever and were calling it his best verse ever when in reality there were about 15 verses on Relapse that were better.

I personally think Em and Royce are trying to make spitting fast "cool"
Seeing all these other rappers doing these slow flows with boring punchlines. It's different, very different. I hope Em slows down though, I mean this recent song (Echo), for instance, the fast flow works awesomely. Both Royce and Em spit fast, Royce spits faster than usual (that's what I heard)

i agree it works sometimes, same with the yelling. i think almost famous is a good example of that.

but it should be something he pulls out (no homo) once in a while. otherwise it just starts to sound the same.

He hasn't used it much though, he's used it twice in recent verses. The two recent verses probably weren't recorded after everything else either, he was switching up his flow but we just got all the shouting ones first.

Twista is a legend, but he's more of a just rapid rapper. Tech N9ne's style's closer to what Em's been doing lately because he flips and goes back and forth which Twista don't usually do. Some old Busta shit goes similar way too.
So like other people said it's neither the first time EM's going this way, neither Twista's the only other rapper doing it, let alone the one who invented it.
'Forgot about Dre' is staple in hip hop and EM's going crazy rapid on the hook, and that's 1999 too.

EXACTLY. That's what I'm trying to say. I love almost famous. Despicable is phenomenal. But when he is basically trying to be a speed rapper, it isn't great.
