Alright, put some thought into this, and this is tough cause the songs I originally thought were just alright I've been really feeling lately and bumpin a lot, but here are the songs I'd keep, and I'm going to put them in the order I'd have them be on my 13 track album:
1. Cold Wind Blows-Great intro, very unique but great start to the album, love this hook!
2. On Fire- One of the best lyrical songs on the album, mixtape feel but dope as hell
3. Not Afraid- Amazing song, close to Lose Yourself for a lot of reasons, but is too good to keep off, putting it here cause I think it goes good after a hard/cocky track in On Fire
4. Going Through Changes- Good placement for a deep, personal song, and placed here as the album with start with I'm a cold person, I'm the best don't fuck with me, I'm taking on everything and everyone and I won't be stopped, to--damn, I'm still trying to figure all this out.
5. Seduction- One of his best concept songs, to me very unique and amazing song, great chorus, sick fucking ending for that third verse too! Also, good switch from the seriousness in the first 4 tracks.
6. Talkin 2 Myself- Great hook, his flows nasty, loved the personal feel, and had to put it on here cause of only really doing 2 personal tracks, I can't knock it down to only one.
7. Space Bound- Amazing song as well, very different than what he has done prior, not in terms of his lyrics exactly due to the seriousness/violence, but to having a legit love song. Also goes great after the personal track, as this seems personal, tho we don’t know exactly who/what he is writing about.
8. Cinderella Man- Perfect follow up to Space Bound, where he seemed to be so pissed off that “killed” his love for whoever or whatever that song was about, that this is him rebounding and showing nothing can hold him back, and follows up to the message Not Afraid gave.
9. No Love- One of ems best verses ever, not in terms of rhymes, but the flow, the lyrics themselves, the energy, the way he rode that beat, every time I hear this I get pumped. It has never lost its effect. Also, I think it goes great after CM, cause he was saying I’m back and can’t be stopped even though I’m always the underdog, and now he is saying that everyone who put him down is forgotten.
10. Love The Way You Lie- I’m not including this cause of its success or popularity, I’m doing this because he made a classic fucking track, and did so much more with Rihanna than any other rapper has done imo. Great concept track, and fits with the Space Bound theme, yet is so different at the same time.
11. Almost Famous- One of his best songs ever, great fucking lyrics, love this song and the concept as well as how he lyrically worked with the concept. Great end of the album track, and sets up the final track well, cause he is now famous and it took him to...
12. 25 to Life- Feelin this a lot lately, great way to end the album because with this content it would make you think...is he really done?
13. You’re Never Over- I know I said 25 to Life was the “final” track in my listing, but I feel like this song has so much meaning and is so powerful and amazing, that it stands out, to me it’s bigger than the album, so it’s almost like the album ended at 25 to Life, and then this is the encore, the final words he has and wants to say, a dedication that stands out and deserves to stand out by being last.
Ok that’s the list, but by no means am I saying my least favorite tracks are WTP, Untitled, So Bad, or Won’t Back Down. I love them all, but this is the track list I’d choose, and the order I’d put them on the album.
Great topic Embase
