Where I'm At, All She Wrote & what else?

No, LTWYL does not count, neither does 25 To Life and Space Bound is not moaning about a girl.

SLIM SHADY is dead. Eminem says he's been dead for years.

It ruined his whole life. Slim Shady was the evil thoughts, the humor, and the craziness he had.

Slim Shady is not dead. Haven't YOU noticed that nothing can kill Slim Shady?

Shady was killed in When I'm Gone but he came back for Relapse. Who do you think he is arguing with in My Darling? Shady lurks in Recovery too just very very little because Em uses him LESS with his new style but hes not completely dead.

I'm not a big fan of most of his post-Relapse music, but your description isn't at all accurate.

For one...I don't think I'd classify ANYTHING he's done as of late as a "love song."

LTWYL isn't a love song. It's a domestic violence song.
Space Bound isn't a love song. It's about his drug use.
25 to Life isn't a love song. It's about his "marriage to hip hop."

As far as "depression" songs...as long as they're well-written, this is where some of his best work stems from. Rock Bottom and If I Had, for example.

The problem I have with him right now is he has blown out his vocal chords. He needs to cool it for a while if he wants to have any hope of them recovering. Then he needs to come back and knock off the damn shouting.

He also needs to knock off the shitty, embarrassing punchlines.

it's just like what he said in "Kill you" : "They said I can't rap about being broke no more...

same concept on what's happening right now.

I agree with the OP almost all his new songs are either about some sort of metaphorical "love" or full of punchlines about "fuck women, bitches aint shit" .
Shady aint dead though, listen to the tim westwood 2010 freestyle that proves he can still do shady if he's with the right people.
Its all about what eminem style made/kept you a fan.

''If you don't feel what the pencil scripts, then eight times outta ten you ain't been through shit.''

Usually people who don't like those love/depression songs are the people who've never been through situations where they lost someone they loved or have never felt depressed.

Diffrent people have diffrent tastes, Thats the problem, Em's audience is too big, he's got the people who like the spaced out Serial Killer stuff that cry about the serious shit, and the people who like the serious shit who cry when he gets spaced out...........

Lets not act like last year there wasnt a large group of people who were pissed off about Relapse, sayin that he needed to "Grow Up" and make a record like recovery......... Now that he has, the other side of the coin is pissed off......

It is what it is :coffee:

Not everyone can be happy. Luckily, I'm open minded about music enough to enjoy Em's old shit and his new shit. But not everyone shares my opinions, and that's something we all have to learn to accept

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

I like all kinds of stuff so it really doesnt bother me, anda this point, when he tries to be crazy it just comes off as really corny to me, so I prefer his serious stuff now......... I liked the SSLP craziness but when he tries to re-capture that moment it's usually awful these days, so I'd rather a dope Serious Em
