The controversy was the album sucked imo. I rather listen to relapse.

Thats not a controversy because a very small group of people have that opinion, Honeslty this site is the only place where I hear that, everywhere else is, at the very least, comments like "Recovery Sucks but at least its better then Relapse".........Otherwise its usually pretty good reviews of the album, rating it from Average to above average...........

Only thing close to a real controversy was the Little bit of heat he got about LTWYL supporting Domestic Violence, and even that pales in comparison to the complaining he got in the early days

People finally figured out cryin bout Eminem does no good, so they gave up

Not really a typical Eminem album,he collab'ed with other producers besides Dre,had songs with Rhianna and Pink, shouting vs singing, ppl that didn't really listened to LTWYL thought it encouraged
domestic violence,i'm sure that people who heard Relapse didn't expect these things...i'd say it was a bit of controversy around Recovery, but not as much as his other albums. :coffee:

Small? Every where i go and post people say eminem is not any good any more and quite few people. Only place i dont see this is at eminem websites with his fans that clearly still like him.

He has gained new fans with recovery and lost older ones.

I agree to a very minuscule extent. But at the end of the day, I don't listen to an album just for the controversy it may have, I listen to it for everything else: content, lyricism, flows, beats etc.

I liked few songs almost famous, on fire, untiled and no love.

Not much, no, as this thread has made clear. There is plenty of stuff on it that could have aroused controversy in this fucked-up society, but didn't. Perhaps a little surprising.

It seemed like a trend for the media to judge the album based on the theme and seemingly not even listen to the songs. The album was called "Recovery" and "Not Afraid" was the first single, and it was uplifting. Oh, so the album is now uplifting, we'll spin Eminem in a good light this time around.
