Are the Dre headphones AMAZING?
I ask with no real point of reference. As, I'm not an 'audiophile' (never use that word but have seen it used and it's kind of funny) and never used to really care about beats at all. As in, I didn't think much about them. Always been focused on lyrics and flow and was always more important to me.
But even that I guess would be enhanced with better sound quality. I've only ever listened to music through shitty PC speakers though. I do have these old studio headphones but they obviously won't compare to Dre's.
I'm more intrigued by these than others as I watched some interviews with Jimmy and Dre and it's clear that a lot of serious conscious effort has gone into these, with the real collaboration of a beat-making legend. And, he's also obsessive, so I wanna know how good they are.
But, would you say they were absolutely worth every penny and they take it to another level? am just curious. Totally-way-fucking-broke for now and a long while but, in the future I'd possibly buy them just to hear classic material with them. And in particular,
Relapse.
Personally, they are absolutely worth every single penny.
Here's the thing, you'll find a lot of people who shit on the headphones I guess because they hate things that are popular, or because they can't afford to buy them. Just my opinion.
As far as music quality, I adore the bass because it enhances a lot the experience of listening to a hip-hop track. If you want to hear Relapse in particular, make no mistake, these cans deliver. Hearing Stay Wide Awake at max volume will give you goosebumps.
Audio is good and all, however, my favorite thing about the headphones has to be the quality of the product. Absolutely every fucking headphone that I've ever had either the cord gets ripped, or one of the sides stops working, which infuriates me. I've had the beats since January and it has never given me any trouble. It even comes with an extra cord just in case something happens to the main one. I love it.
Another of the pros is the battery life. I was concerned that this thing was going to eat batteries and cost me a lot of money, but since January, I've changed batteries probably 5 times. I bought a $20 rechargeable batteries charger, and it works like a charm. And I bump most of the time around 5 hours of music per day, so I give the beats a good workout.
I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Studio to anyone. And on top of that, they look cool as fuck and doesn't make you look like a doofus like a lot of the audiotechnica, sennheiser or sony cans.
