EminemBase's posts were actually very interesting to read. Someone with Em's talent could really do anything. I'm still hopeful that his future album(s) will contain some things that we've never seen/haven't been done before.

Eminememy wrote:I'm taking EmBase's side on this. The tracks are definite uneven and Recovery is not cohesive. HTS is however a step in the right direction IMO. And Recovery is NOT anywhere close to the best produced or even best Eminem album. However, after bearing trams like Above the Law & the reunion I feel that his punchline game is improving, that he might go back to a sslp/mmlp delivery, and that he may go back to stories. I hope he just drops making punchline tracks altogether. And EmBase I checked put He'll of A Life by Kanye. The formate is verse 1/hook/instrumental/verse 2/alternate hook/hook/ instrumental/verse 3/hook/instrumental. I find yelawolf's Kill my nightmare more experimental, just my opinion. However, you did say even Kanye hasn't taken creativity in song structure to the max. He is still following a formula. And typing this gives more respect for YelaWolf, really starting to love this guy.

I was referring to the idea itself, not the song structure.

The fact he just has a fantasy, and runs with it. That's what's impressive.

And @A42491563 - I'll respond to your post in a bit, after reading it all.

His strength lies in his ability 2 stay relevant and keep up his lyrical spontaneity & his freestyle flow, he flows like no other & doubt ANyone in the biz can step up 2 the plate and beat him, they may join the team. Is that better. Y'all really should get over yourselves. I'm not ashamed of my opinions, so why the "hidin ur face" icon. Whatever.

strengths - converting his anger to art. countless great songs have come out this, while lately he has nothing to talk about so we get muddled shit about hating whores.
weaknesses - puns, they never were good. caring too much about his fans. back in mmlp days, he didn't give a fuck, but that was okay because everyone loved his shit. in relapse he still didn't give a fuck but then people didn't feel like it like they did before, so he's like wait a minute I give a fuck now.

Eminem always cared what his fans would say. Thats why he made Infinite. He made most of SSLP with the intetion of getting a reaction from Dre because "i want to get the reaction when someone hears my music but wont be there when they listen to it so use Dre as a measure." He purposefully made Encore because the "formula" of jokey singles had made him do so. He "cared" about fans when making I'm back and (forgot the other) from MMLP only that Interscope ddnt think it was good enough and he ended up making TRSS. He cared so much about ratings he beefed with Benzimo. His main purpose of rapping in the first place was to "get respect." He cared about how people reacted to him when freestyling in Detroit. In a howard stern interview back in 2000 he would get ancy when people had negative comments about his work. Only difference between then and now was then he was so cocky he would hide behind "IJDGAF" Now he humbly and maturely ignores it.
