I think the song is good but i don't think Eminem should be collaborating with pop artists. The majority of the time when i heard it on the radio they would shorten all Eminems verses just to get to the chorus. Dido & Pink work because of their rockish influence, Rihanna & Bruno don't.

I think Lighters is worse but it has a better production than Love The Way You Lie.

I might like the funny lead singles more than love the way you lie, but its the same deal with them. They needed those for the radio. I mean this guy says he doesnt like love the way you lie cuz it feels like interscope told em to record it, but we dont actually know that they did. We do know that they made him do The Real Slim Shady. Whether you wanna admit it or not they are both pop songs

I like "love the way you lie", and i don't like Rihanna, but I think is a good song.

I don't care if the song is loved on facebook , or loved or hated here. Make no sense to argue about it. I just like it. And I'm not going to change my mind.

But I see a lot of people who say "The Real Slim Shady is the proof that Eminem is an asshole". They probably meant that Love The Way You Lie appeal to almost everybody due to the positive message. Where are the positive messages and the mainstream-appealing factors in My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Without Me, We Made You and even Just Lose It ? These are tracks where he spits his classic industry-mocking rhymes. Saying these are pop is like saying A Kiss from H;TS is pop .. Which is another industry mocking track with MORE of a poppy beat and hook .. But it isn't pop

And I didn't even say LTWYL is pop (unless trolling or trying to piss people off). But saying that the funny first singles are pop is laughable .. The only track that Eminem made that is close to pop is Lighters .. not Not Afraid nor LTWYL nor anything.

Ok so LTWYL is gimmicky because it has a positive message and that makes it appeal to mainstream? Well The Real Slim Shady has nearly just as much mainstream appeal with its referencing different pop figures and celebrity gossip and what not. It doesnt have to have a positive message to have mainstream appeal. Why do you think Interscope forced him to record it? because it had mainstream appeal handing them the fastest selling solo album of all time. How can you not call that pop? Even eminem says in Way I Am(book) that he makes pop joints and since that was pre comeback which songs do you think he was referring to? And no I'm not trolling just presenting facts.

Pop music is just recorded to be commercial. Eminem puts songs on albums to make them more commercially appealing.

Eminem is not underground anymore and is the now the proclaimed "King of Rap" and will hit #1 and go platinum with anything he puts out. Anything he does is "pop" now, like it or not.

Now, someone explain the positive message in LTWYL to me. I'm not saying it's not there, I just don't see it.

I actually became a stan about 3 or 4 months ago,not because of Recovery songs,but because I heard many parodies of The Real Slim Shady and Without Me(I recognized it from the good old days of 2002,but forgot what it was) and I heard the original songs were funny too so I checked them out and than ended up checking out more Eminem songs and became obsessed.
anyways,I hate when people say that LTWYL and Not Afraid,Lighters,etc,are all sugar coated and stuff when he says tons of swears in them.

Me neither. The most positive thing in there is "I know I'm a liar," which is sort of a warning. But LTWYL doesn't say "This is bad, don't do it," it says "This is what goes on inside the heads of people in this type of relationship." It's more of a psychoanalysis than anything, IMO.
