I like it. I like the hook too I just don't like Bruno's voice, it's too pop sounding. But Em rarely uses strong, soulful voices on his hooks and they probably would sound less pop if he did.

Hailie needs to smack Marshall for this "Not Afraid "and "Lighters" stunt he pulled. Just when you though he was leaving the cheesiness behind him prior to June when those songs from "Hell: The Sequel" were being released....he goes back to something like Lighters. And its the ONLY BLEMISH on the EP with him and Royce.

Man these bad mistakes he makes sometimes makes me want to punch him Marshall STOP LISTENING to interscope that much. God damn man.

This isn't 1999. Your not going to be dropped if you do what you want to do and ignore Jimmy and the label.

And if I'm wrong and Interscope had nothing to do with this....and Marshall made this decision himself it pisses me off even more. Where the hell is Paul when he makes decisions like these?

No it was actually Royces decision why do you assume everything was Eminems choice when it's not just his EP?

Or perhaps Eminem likes the music he's doing now along with the millions of other people who buy it and like it. I love Not Afraid. It's a step up from the silly, immature songs dissing pop stars and ultimately giving them more fame and attention than they deserve. I'm glad he doesn't waste songs on them anymore. I'm glad the era of dressing up and acting like a clown in videos is gone too. He's almost 40, it's time to grow up.

Are you trolling?????

I guess him saying that he will pull his dick from the dirt and fuck the whole universe in Not Afraid is a step up right from being "immature" right?

And please tell me who is insinuating that he should dress up and act like a "clown" in his video. By the way did you see the "Fast Lane" video of him in the Fidora and big chain?

I know right!! I also agree that I'm glad this era of him acting like a clown is finally done. I mean besides the Fast Lane video where he held a hotdog in his hand and shoved it in a hot dog bun, he has been on his best behavior.

I mean besides when he choked Sasha Grey in "Space Bound"

No offense but you seem like one of those people that only watch singles of an artist and doesn't think about what you say.

Edit: Anybody who listened to Recovery and PAID ATTENTION would not say something as stupid like you just did. I really wish EmBase was here to school you right now.

No, it was a joint decision. They both agreed to do the song.

Um Because the last time I checked he is a part of the duo...and even if he didn't come up with a certain idea or plan he can disagree with it, without saying yes because the person is his friend and he doesn't want to hurt their feelings.

Trolling? That would be you starting a topic that's already been discussed many times before and posting a comparison that makes no sense. A freestyle vs a radio song? A hungry rapper vs a been- through-it-all-superstar? Of course he'll never be that guy again and it's only depressing to those who dwell on it.

Please show me where in my post did I imply I wanted back the "Old em" like other people always say and that I want him to make songs like "The real slim shady"... Learn to read things carefully and stop assuming every member here hates all of Em's music now. Like I said before I actually love Recovery.

I know he will never be hungry as he was before he became big. That's the point. That is why its called your "prime". Go back and read my post carefully if you want to see what I was arguing exactly.

It had nothing to do with wanting the "Old em". I'm not one of those people dwelling on the old em. I brought up songs like "Stimulate" and "Public Enemy #1". "Almost Famous" because I love the lyrical c content he shows as an emcee and how creative the songs are.

The fact that you think me mentioning songs like that is complaning about wanting that old version of him back and saying "of course he'll never be that guy again" shows me how slow you are.

You saw me mention "Almost Famous" before.....you do know that is a song on Recovery right? Or did you only listen to Not Afraid, LTWYL, and Space Bound?

Once again since you have problems listening I'm NOT asking him to return back to 2002(his prime) because he cannot just force himself to do that. Its called a prime for a reason.

MY POINT was that I want him to stop making songs like Lighters. The way your talking in your posts kind of makes it seem that your not very knowledgeable about him at all. You wouldn't say things like he isn't "immature" anymore and doesn't clown around anymore. Anybody who LISTENS to Hell the Sequel and Recovery carefully and diligently would not make stupid statements like that.

You sound like a person who just watched a commentary from Anderson Cooper when Eminem was on there in the past year...and just want to reiterate what he said. Newsflash the message of NOt Afraid does not mirror the whole album.

I really have no problems with you in all honesty, I just thought the VBV verse was distasteful, & you saying I caught feelings over it, I don't think you realize how many times people in hip hop reference one's medical conditions, and how people in those situations would/do feel about the comments, joking or not.

Like for example, Eminem continuously saying shit about Christopher Reeves. While I admit the jabs are hilarious, I won't lie, I still think it's fucked up. Point is, he went too far.

Well, guess what? It's a rap battle and you shouldn't have entered if you're not prepared to face the maximum amount of insults about your health condition. Do you really think he actually meant that? I don't know what other forums did you battle on on the internet but in TRShady there are no rules about the content, and the battle's for fun, you better keep that in mind before you battle again. And guess what, if you called me out i'm gonna do the same thing, it's not because I hate you, it's not because I don't give a fuck about your health condition, it's not because I wish you will die, it's simply because it's a rap battle. And if you get sensitive over shit like this being made fun of on events that are meant to make fun of you in there, don't enter. It's like walking into a food fight not wanting go have a stain on your shirt.

Sorry for getting outta topic guys.

Bro I've rap battled millions of times, and I'm not even talking about this forum, I've been on multiple rap forums battling and learning structure, personals, punchlines, etc. & I understand that it's just a battle and to dig up as much shit as possible on your opponent, and to not get offended, but in my opinion, and I'm allowed to have one, I felt he went too far. His metaphors and verse was very dope, I admitted that in the battle, and I didn't even say it disrespectfully there, I just said I felt health issues like that shouldn't be touched on, but that's just me. I feel the same way about diss songs in hip hop, as far as dissing one's son or daughter. When Ja Rule said something about Eminem's daughter he crossed the line, Saigon did it with Joe Budden's son when they had that so called beef, and there are other examples that follow that. I'm not even bitching about the fact that I lost, because I said I had a problem with it before any votes were casted, so it's not even that.

And honestly, the shit that he said last night was ridiculous. I'm really not trying to get into any e-beef. The line in my sig is just a joke, I don't want his mom to die, or any bullshit like that.

Why didn't you pick a freestyle from 1999 then a freestyle from now?

Of course he'll probably sound different because back then he really wanted to prove himself as a rapper. He's finally proven himself and he doesn't go that hard anymore.
