Shady 2.0 is much better. A real slew of lyricists and actual artists.
Obie,D12 and 50 were the original members on the label, the people you are referring to didnt even put an album out between them they had 1 compilation mixtape/album between them
.......And Cheers, Get Rich and Devils Night were as good as anything the new Shady 2.0 have mustered. For something like a Cypher the newer members would be better equipped hopefully they smack it out the park
ORIGINAL Shady Records, is Shady Records PRIOR to Shady 2.0.
Stat Quo and Bobby Creek WERE members of Shady PRIOR to Shady 2.0. SO, they WERE members of 'original Shady' if you were to call it that.
My point was in comparison to the guys Em was beginning to pick for the label - cliche, bad, sloppy rappers; guys like Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf are a total flip. Breath of fresh air.
I never said good albums weren't put out on the label. And I already said Obie was good. 50 Cent is not a good lyricist or rapper though,
Get Rich is good due to production and the overall effect. And hooks, the only thing 50 was ever great at.
In comparison to the lackluster skills of 50, Bizarre, Stat, Bobby... him signing people like Budden and Royce is outstanding. Before, there were a few strong ones besides Em at the label. Now, they're basically all strong, competitive, brilliant MCs.
Shady 2.0 is a massive improvement. In terms of the lyricists there.
