Was Satan ruled out of the equation or am I missing something? :confusion:
For all who are willing to sell their souls, for this rap game, and it g-g-goes...

You sold your soul to me, need I remind you? You 'member that night, you prayed to God you'd give anything to get a record deal, well Dre signed you. This is what you wanted your whole life Marshall right? Whew! Look at this house, look at these cars, they're so nice. Whew!

I thought selling your soul to the devil gave you fame and fortune?

Maybe... Slim Shady asked Satan if he could take Eminem's personally. Idk. Lol.

01. Satan could metaphorically mean the drugs, like Relapse said, did you think of it that way?
02. My Darling was the sequel, if that even makes sense since it's prequel is a skit, to Dr. West, they align perfectly & one leads into another, listen to the songs again if you forget.
03. 3 AM is the return of Slim Shady fully in song form, not just Eminem & Slim Shady. It goes Dr. West, My Darling, then 3 AM.

I listened to Relapse again last night, and I completely agree.

word. I never though of it in chronological order. I guess you're right though, cuz 3am is when the devil or bad spirits come out or some shit like that. Or maybe its when they're their strongest? idk. but that sounds correct. :y:

I think it's when Slim Shady returns fully, like takes over the song, if you know what I mean, but yeah, you got it.

On the Slim Shady v Devil theme in My Darling, I'm pretty confident is meant to be Shady.

1. The voice is the exact same voice as the Shady voice in the intro of the SSEP.
2. If you listen to "Shady's" voice in My Darling you will notice Eminems voice is being played parallel to it (in most bits). IMO it is eminem talking to himself but hearing Shady (listen to the ... oh and you didnt know fame has a price to, that youre just now seeing the down side too bit...).
3. The calling Dre thing doesnt make sense if he's talking to the devil.

He is talkin to Shady - whether Eminem is possessed by Shady or not may be another issue.

Yeah, and his voice is extremely similar to the backstabber's in the line, "Gimme your girlfriend, or I'm gonna kill ya."

On a side note, in Backstabber, Em says the backstabber betrayed him before. So he's probably the guy in Fuckin' Backstabber. This is backed up in the wanted poster in the artwork for the album Soul Intent.

...Man, I've really thought into this. Lol.

LOL, it's plausible. I honestly think it is a coincidence though, especially considering it was proof's idea for them all to have an alter-ego and there has never been a specific reference or mention of the Backstaber character or song in any of Eminem's other songs or interviews, etc.

Having said that, if Eminem were to write a History of Shady type song and used your idea it would make a great concept.

Just to help your theory along, Backstabber does have similar characteristics to shady - "he'll stab you with his sword don't be fooled by his charm, he's probably armed with intent to do bodily harm!"

Also, just to help your theory along (again), Backstabber's voice is a little less scary than the Shady one on the SSEP intro, my darling and dr west, but maybe when he passed over he became more evil and his voice developed accordingly lol :p

Yeah, maybe Backstabber/Shady exploited Em's many evil thoughts to use as his weak points, so when they became one, the backstabber's evil and Em's dark side combined.

But, of course, Marshall may have never even related Backstabber and Shady himself...

Yeah lol, it makes sense, I'm just saying.

Oh, and if he ever connects them, I get credit for figuring it out! Lol.

Sorry to break it to you man but I'm pretty sure Backstabber didn't die - I couldn't remember if he did or not so I listened to it again. After em stabs him the cops say that he was intercepted by "313" and he's "going back to the crazy home"!! Unless he died at a later time, Backstabber was still alive at the end of the song.

Kudos for a pretty decent theory though. I still like it lol...

He and Em apparently had some history together, so they probably met again. Or he died from Em beating him up shortly afterwards.
