One thing I don't get about this interview is...Dogmatic makes it seem as though Dre was gonna choose between Royce and Em, and chose Em because he was more marketable. Did Dre even know who Royce was back then? I dunno, that sorta annoyed me.

I think he was just over simplifying the situation. He was saying they were both making moves in LA, and that should have put them on equal footing. Eminem's performance in the Rap Olympics was what got the SSEP to Dre though, not Eminem's skin pigment. Did Royce even have a completed project under his belt at the time?

Royce's personality wouldn't have worked well with Dre as a recording artist anyway. His work ethic is questionable, and his sloppiness at times wouldn't mesh with Dre's perfectionist mindset.
