^ Since Not Afraid there's been Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa in 2011 and Whistle by Flo Rida in 2012 (kind of depressing that we're only getting 1 per year now, and that the most recent one isn't even a hip hop song).
And yeah, Adele going to match Eminem's record, since 21 is going to be the best-selling album of both 2011 and 2012. Michael Jackson's Thriller also managed the same thing, but maybe that was before the Soundscan era started, I don't know. 50 Cent was also close to doing that in 2003 and 2005, but missed out in the end.

It's obvious you didn't even listen to the album considering songs like "Roses" have R&B influences. Album isn't really poppy. He does rap in "Hey Ya!"?
To be honest, there was a lot of debate about what genre Hey Ya! was when it was popular. A lot of people were even claiming it was an alternative or rock song, even though I can't hear ANYTHING alternative or rock in the song at all. I would've thought people were just saying that because there was guitar in the song, but there's guitar in loads of hip hop songs, and they don't get accused of being rock. I love the song though. I do think it's very poppy, but that can be said of nearly all massive hip hop hits, and it's not a bad thing, and doesn't mean they're not hip hop imo.
